Is there any downside of separating the action from the stock? I was thinking about giving my rifle a paint job and am hesitant on "braking the seal".

Wow, not sure how I missed this question and you likely have an answer already. No, there's no downside. Rock the barreled action along its length to work the recoil lug out of the bedding. About 1/3 of the way up, it'll come straight up. Don't wiggle it side to side.

Thanks Eric. It was a humbling experience to stand back and look at it when the rifles and pistol was hanging on the wall for the first time....took me eight years to get a booth at SHOT.
