I am 5 months in on my SBR paperwork. I submitted it under a trust. I need to send my paperwork in on a 5.56 can. What all do I need to send? What parts of my trust do I need to give?

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

It basically needs to be a complete COPY of your trust

2 form 4's

And I send that other paper 5330.20 ?? The one that says you are you just in case they need it, if not let ATF dispose of it instead of delaying paperwork

And yup the $200

Has anyone sent a USPS money order instead of a check?

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

I always send in a check, never saw a reason to go buy a USPS MO. I have never sent in the citizenship form either for a Trust but I guess it doesn't hurt.

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

I have been sitting on my paperwork for 2+ months.....I wish I would have already had it sent off.

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

I don't need to list the suppressor yet in my trust right?

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

You don't have your suppressor yet, so no. Once your item is in your possession, it would need to be listed as an asset then.

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

So send ANOTHER complete copy of my trust along with 2 form 4's and one of the compliance letters along with a check?

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

i've used a USPS money order for several NFA items just cause I was lazy to write a check and at the post office already.

I don't know for sure if a citizen document is necesary but i've always sent it in just to avoid any issues as I've heard it may cause a delay.

I don't add the item to my schedule A until the stamp comes back approved

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

You can send them money orders, cashiers checks or personal checks. They will accept all of them and cash them in record time. Form 1 applications to make and register take more time for the check to be cashed as they are sent direct to NFA Branch in West Virginia. On the other hand, form 4's go to the bank in Atlanta and they will cash the check prior to forwarding the paperwork to NFA Branch in West Virginia. I always suggest to my customers that using a personal check is a good way for them to be able to keep track of things. You can get online and see when your check was cashed. It gives you something of a start point for your paperwork. Most money orders and cashiers checks won't allow you to get that info.

Re: NFA Paperwork Question

recently I think they changed the requirements. I'm like 99% sure you need to submit your schedule A form blank, and the agent fills it out.

SHouldn't hurt sending it in. If its not needed, they will either send it back or throw it out. Not worth the extra 2-3 weeks if it is needed, and you have to then send it to them after sending your dealer a statement saying they need it.
