Me and a couple other .mil guys in my section are tryin to work it with our command right now, hopefully know soon

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

Wish I could make this one, but alas my daughters come first. Good luck everyone and maybe, just maybe, someone will be a dedicated spotter on one of the teams whenever possible. I know, I know, some stages require both to shoot but what if you actually did BETTER that way?

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

You can organize your team however you want. Bolt/bolt , bolt/Gasser , gasser/gasser.

Some stages are spotter/shooter and some have both team members engaging at the same time.

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

just bring an accurate rifle with dope and you will have an awesome time. scott and ryan are match masterminds

I would say not only masterminds, but they put the mind freak on you with some stages. I think their scenarios are the most fun I've ever seen, as well as the most challenging.

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

Shooters,
Ryan and I are looking for some feedback on how we run the prize table.

We are thinking about introducing a raffle of some sort into the mix.

We still believe the top shooters should be able to draw first, but at some point we would like to randomize the prize table.

Any and all ideas are welcome just SEND IT

We still have opennings for sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring send a PM to me or Knight

SO it would only be restricted to caliber and not type of firearm? So a 300wm shooting 240 bergers would be in Military division against 308's or 223's?

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

I say let it be a performance based prize table...you could do several side matches/stages like you did the last cpl matches...I don't like the show up and win a prize type match, if I pull a giant suckfest for a match I don't deserve an upper tier prize...its just not fair to the guys who did shoot well.

A 308 or 223 only match would be awesome...let it be a shooters match, even playing field so to speak...just my thoughts, I will shoot yalls match regardless of format.

A 308 or 223 would be a "fun" match

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

A military cartridge division limited to 308 and 5.56 would be an interesting twist. Especially since it looks like my partners rifle won't be ready in time and he'll be shooting a 5.56

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

I really like the format the way it is with the lack of divisions and structuring. Caliber choice left to the competitor to decide based upon what he or she thinks will work best, or simply shooting what ya brung, makes this whole style of shooting so much fun. By designing the stages the way you guys have, keeping them diverse, giving no distinct advantage to a platform or caliber over the course of the match keeps with the freestyle nature of the way we're free to shoot it. I think that diversity of stage design has kept the playing field rather level, and as match directors, you should be very proud of that accomplishment. I would just rather this sport not end up like many of the other less-fun disciplines, but that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

If a division must be made, perhaps have one where your rifle and optic cannot be worth more than $2500. In order to enforce this, shooters in that category must agree in writing to allow their rifle to be bought by any other competitor or MD for $2500 at any time during the match.

The idea of having both a performance-based prize table and a raffle is good. And maybe some prizes for the most hostages hit, biggest mental f-up, something to compliment the Dave trophy and add some more fun.

I don't know. You guys are doing one hell of a job already. Like CC said, I'll shoot your matches regardless. Stage design is where it's at, and you've got that down to an art.

Papa thank you very much. We pretty much feel the same way, but as a customer service business we are all ways looking for input from the shooters

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

pistol stages or combo stages of handgun and rifle would be fun and easy to work into existing stages while adding another aspect to the match

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

I'll second tansinator. While not necessarily a great motel, for the money it would be a good choice.

Re: PTS Fall Team Precision Rifle Match

for $100 or so, you could rent out the community center about a half mile past the farm. prob sleep 30+. bring sleeping bags and thermarest pads.

(as long as you don't tell them you're spending the night... and i don't think they have a shower)
