Libya

Re: Libya

Pathetic that the Embassy in Cairo issued an almost apology for offending the religion of choice in that country.

Basically an act of war was committed against the US and we are apologizing. Who would of guessed?????

Re: Libya

Cairo embassy should have started shooting their asses as they were climbing the fence. if they want to take it over then by god they will do it as they crawl over bodies of their fallen friends. libya after we helped to liberate them this is the way they treat us.... yeah not all of them are "bad" but everyone there knew what was going on so my thoughts are all BOOOOOMMMM. a few bombers and that problem is solved

Re: Libya

Has anyone heard if this was guarded by Marines? Seems like the street would be littered with [not sure if I can use that word] if it was.

Re: Libya

Employing Al-Qaeda as US sub-contractor to overthrow Gadaffi was clearly a well thought out plan.

Next stop Syria.

Back to sleep America.....back to sleep.

Re: Libya

Strange allies you've chosen... You've sown now you reap..

Who would have thought that all those democracy thirsty people in Egypt and Libya could have turned so fast...

Although I agree it was an act of war, I am tired of this stuff. Time to bring everyone home and let them kill themselves. Close our embassies in these messed up countries and bring our troops home.

Re: Libya

Im pretty sure it was not guarded by any armed americans if so the street would have been littered with bodies.
Sharac so fast is the key word... we all knew they would eventually but damn thats kinda fast

Excuse me? Genocide is your answer?

Re: Libya

Genocide is NOT the answer. Vermin extermination IS.

The question is, separating the Vermin from the humans. Though there is a massive difference between them, they outwardly "look" similar.

What good will sending Marines to Lybia do. The rules of engagement would keep them from doing their job.

I fear they would just be targets.

Been down this road before.

Get on board with the mission, we're doing a helluva job destabilizing the entire region.

Just look at the Al-Qaeda flag flying proudly over the COURTHOUSE in Benghazi.

That "NATO" backed invasion of Libya is really working out splendidly, can't wait for Syria.

Wow.

Before you typed that, did you think to yourself "what is the most braindead, moronic thing I could possibly say?"

Or does this kind of idiocy just come natural to you?

Re: Libya

Yes we have Sir.

Khobar towers, 1996 and before that the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, 1983.

In both of these cases Marines were stationed as sentries without ammo or even magazines. It would be apparent even from a great distance that they were not only unpermitted, but unable to engage anyone.

Nobody can honestly tell me that this lesson has been learned. Whoever is put there will be saddled with RoE that basically says:

"Don't shoot back until they kill you."

And even then this administration will probably reward them with a posthumous court martial.

Re: Libya

These people cannot be helped if they will not help themselves. Just more people with their hand out looking to suck from our teet.

"We're opressed by a dictator"

Ok, hes dead now, but we're still helpless to clean up our yard, for some reason du jour. Sorry your people were killed again.

If I continue, my comments will get ugly so I will stop here.

Re: Libya

My prayers and condolences go out to the families and friends of those that were murdered in this attack. It's obvious now that this wasn't just a "Protest Gone Wild" situation and that it was planned and orchestrated.

I thought about making a thread similar to this one early this morning before PT but thought better of it because of the strong political response it would bring. It's obvious I was right.

Instead of spewing brainless messages of blind hate and calling for genocide (Which is EXACTLY what the majority of that part of the world does when they're outraged) focus on the families and friends of those that were killed in this great tragedy.

This forum has a very strict political/religious post policy and that's one of the elements that allowed it to turn into one of the biggest database of useful firearm related information on the internet.

Oh and one more thing...

NEVER Forget. NEVER Forgive.

This man dedicated his entire life to civil service, attempted to create some harmony in one of the most politically turbulent and corrupt countries in the world and actually improve the quality of life of Libyans. He was a US citizen, put his life on the line and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Americans need to see this disturbing image and judge this administration by its retaliation - which I fear will be too brief and perfunctory not to mention shortly followed within a few months by a visit from Hillary with a check for a couple hundred million dollars in aid.

Its about time these governments take responsibility for policing their own ("minority" groups, terrorists, delinquents, whatever you choose to call them) and failure to do so is THAT government's responsibility. They need a good military spanking they won't soon forget followed by strong economic sanctions, not rewards.

$830,000,000.00 Dollars worth of Tomahawk cruise missles to aid Al-Queda in overthrowing Gaddafi, appears to be a shitty return on "our" investment!

Bengahazi is the hub of Al-Queda in Libya, why did Mr. Stevens reside in this consulate with only have two security personal?

Add Libya to the growing list of nations getting hammered by Predator strikes.

It is time to move the UN to another country.

There's definitely no advantage for it being here in the USA. Time to let it be somebody else's problem for the next 50 years. Let's permit our diplomats to get drunk and strangle whores in their country with complete, 100% immunity.

There are a lot of dirty little 'diplomatic immunity' incidents around NYC.

According to the "News" outlets, there were/was a Local Libyan security detail.

As far back as Vietnam, and later Iraq and Afghanistan, the value of "Local" security has been worse than useless. Why would anybody but a complete blithering idiot think the Libyans would be any different ?

The only person an American can count on to have their back in hostile territory is another ARMED American........

Employing Al-Qaeda as a US sub-contractor has it's risks, like occasionally they'll kill your Ambassador.

Thankfully someone above my pay grade has obviously thought this whole thing through entirely.
