I've been using the Howard Leight Impact Sport for the past couple of years with no issues, but I am planning to upgrade. So what do you guys think is the better purchase, as I can't seem to find too much information on the MSA Basics.

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

I can tell you I have peltors and if your ever out in the rain with them they will crap out on you. My electronic ear pro is no longer electronic. I will be buying the MSA Sordins soon because of the fact they are water proof. More expensive at $250 but well worth it for me.

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

I believe the Supreme Pro X are the ones that are water proof, I am specifically asking about the basics. I just can't justify spending $300 on ear pros.

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

They are well worth it!! I had a set of their comm units until my dog got a hold of em while I was out. Came home to a 500.00+ mess to clean up, and a dog that wanted to keep playing as I cleaned up the mess...

I still have the pieces.... Ill sell em to you for half off ;-)

Oh man... I'm no animal lover to begin with. That dog would have been target practice... for my airsoft rifle

I've owned Peltors. Still do actually. But the electronic package corroded early on because of sweat, electric current, etc. They are non-electric backups for my kids now.

Before they fried, they were known for crappy battery life, and muddy sound transfer.

I switched to the Sordins and couldn't be happier. Much better battery life, sealed battery compartment, much clearer sound, automatic shutdown if accidentally left on, very comfortable.

Spendy but a great investment in your hearing health.

Good kit and a good guy to buy them from

Also, the gel cups and cotton covers are virtually a must-have.

Sordins come with the same foam filled earcups that every ear pro does. The gel cup upgrade allows a better seal, especially over eye-pro, and the cotton covers are just downright comfy.

After switching to Sordins, i'm frikken spoiled. Nothing else comes close.

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

Both ear pros mentioned above has the gel option.

My headband got warped after being in my assault pack during NTC and I got excited reading this then realized I got the Supreme pro IV instead of the X and that they have a much shorter warranty.

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

So which Sordin does everyone run, the standard over the top or the neckband model?

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

I can tell you that we sell the headband 10:1 over the neckband version.

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

I actually like my neck band model. I find it more comfortable than the Headband version.

Either or, Sordins rock. And do yourself a favor and get them from Steve at Triad. You will never look back!!!

Re: MSA Sodin Supreme Basic vs Peltor Tac Sport

I have both, but the Sordin Supreme Pro's. I prefer the Sordins. I like the gel cups and slimmer profile.

I bought the Supreme Pro-X's from Triad, I highly recommend going this route! The earpro is fantastic, I am really glad I purchased them. Triad is also great to deal with!

These earpro's are so good, my girlfriend just purchased a pair from Triad!
