Gunsmithing Cerakote referrals

Re: Cerakote referrals

I asked this same question a while back and didn't really get any responses. I know that GAP does Cerakote but I do not know their prices.

I have a barreled action I want to get done, so you might want to post what you have to get done as not everyone can accept a firearm without their own FFL.

Re: Cerakote referrals

Chad Dixon does pretty good work up in your neck of the woods. C.Dixon is his handle on here

Re: Cerakote referrals

Since our name was mentioned. . .

We've been C-coating for almost a year now. I keep a large variety of colors in stock, have a HUGE blast cabinet, Purpose built down draft paint booth, and a temp controlled oven. Not to mention to "dunk tanks" for sterilizing the parts prior to painting.

I've invested heavily in this stuff and it's paid off with drama free, done right the first time, applications.

Garrett has done 99% of all the C-coat work and they come out really nice.

Our turnaround is typically about 72 hours for this stuff. Pics are worth way more than all the words in the world. Easiest way for you to check for yourself is to visit our site and select any number of build threads listed on the home page. The majority of our guns get coated so just jump towards the end of the thread and you'll see the paint work.

Fwiw Kalli won the "gun of the week" award a little while back with her pink M4 project.

Here's a 7mmRSAUM I recently did for a guy in the Gillette, WY area.

I actually contacted GAP today and they referred me to customguncoatings.com for duracoat when I specifically asked about Cerakote... thought that was strange.

I wonder why the hell GAP would refer you elsewhere and to use Duracoat over Cerakote...

Re: Cerakote referrals

I'm looking at guncoat.com - does anyone have a personal experience to share?

Re: Cerakote referrals

Brandon aka Shortbus here on the hide is customguncoatings. He does food work and does GAPs cerakote work as he is local to them

Re: Cerakote referrals

I have had the guys over at Accurate Ordnance do three of my builds, all with Cerakote work including barreled actions and, for one build, also coating a new Nightforce scope as well.

The quality of their work has been flawless and Mark and the guys really go the extra mile to work with you.

I had a barreled action done by AO and they are top notch. Super cool to work with.

Re: Cerakote referrals

Chad Dixon did a Cerakote job for a good buddy of mine it was FLAWLESS to say the least!!!

Finish was perfect

Re: Cerakote referrals

This is turning into a good Cerakote list. Keep the referrals coming in. Pictures speak 1000 words...

Re: Cerakote referrals

Here is a list

Todd Jackson (30calsniper)
Brandon (Shortbus)
ARP
Chad Dixon (C.Dixon)
Mark Gordon (Shortaction Customs)

Those would be my go to guys if I didn't Cerakote at work.

Re: Cerakote referrals

C.Dixon - Nice Work!

Another option for the original poster:

LibertyCoatings.com - They do a lot of work for the big manufacturers and local gun shops. Plus, they still make time for the little guy. I have a barrel there now.

If you are close to Long Rifles Inc. - I would go that route.

Re: Cerakote referrals

There's plenty of guys / builders doing their own, some do the simple single color combos them selfs and farm out the fancy stuff. 30calsniper & Deadly0311 have treated me great along with Mike Bush hooking me up after an epic failure by another highly recommended individual here on the Hide.

I'd be very interested in sending a project to Shortbus too.

Re: Cerakote referrals

Ernie (Red Creek Tactical) did one for me and it was just what I wanted. He also can do Cerakote's DFAC coating for bolts and other parts that need lubrication.

Re: Cerakote referrals

as well as adding "you" I'd also add...

Jon Beanland & Karl at Kampfeld

Re: Cerakote referrals

I've been doing Cerakote for two years, I'm a one man operation and got started in the biz after taking some pointers from Hide members. A lot of knowledge on this forum and a shitload of talent.

Re: Cerakote referrals

Deadly does excellent work! Two of the items pictured are mine. I will recommend him without hesitation. I still give him Bravo Zulu for his work. He was on time and high quality, can't beat that.

Re: Cerakote referrals

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to go with Chad Dixon. I'll post pics when I get it back.

Re: Cerakote referrals

All great work!
What about Doug Burche at Ultra Coatings? Is he doing small jobs anymore? He is one of the originators and fixed a hosed up job I inherited. SUPER GUY also!!!

Re: Cerakote referrals

Phantom Finishing is very good. I have two rifles done by him. I don't know to post the pics.

He has done several for me and could be happier!
