I dont know, just seams like one or the other not both.

Anyway, This show caused me (more like last straw) to get a .22 can. I ended up with the suppressed 22/45 in my hand after the first house clearing scene.

This is exactly what I've been saying for a while. If they're already infected, then how can they get more infected to the point of turning into a zombie with a bite or scratch?

Also, the whole biting infecting thing seems a tad weird also. Is it the saliva that transmits it? I was thinking blood to blood, and the zombies don't necessarily have to be bleeding from the mouth.

Maybe it's just the saliva that gets on your blood.

And btw, if being bit just weakens your immune system so you turn into a zombie, how come Hershel is still alive with his leg being cut off, or how come T-dog is still alive after having his arm cut up so bad of the car?

I'm perfectly fine just accepting it's a TV show, and that all the details about zombies aren't gonna make much sense, but this seems like a biggie.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Maybe its like a two part epoxy. You already have Part A in your blood. When bit by the infected, Part B is introduced and activates the missing death dealing to the living part of the virus. When you die of natural causes, IE.. neck being broke or stabbed, the Part A can bring you back without the Part B.

I don't know if its saliva, or blood, or some other pathogen in the mouth that carries the Part B, But that's the way I look at it.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Dam dish network..get your shit together and make up with AMC or your gonna get cancelled.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Ugg, last nights episode was BORING! You can almost hear the producers of this show saying, "Slam on the breaks" while the rest of the world is saying, "Do something interesting".

This is the slowest developing show EVER! Tune in next week to see Hershal get crutches and hold some more hands.

Boring... I really hope the rumors floating around about the original cast being all dead by the end of this season are true, hopefully the producers will get replaced too.

P.S. Where's the ninja chick? She was the impetus for the whole third season but she's non-existent and from the previews she looks just as boring as the rest of the cast. Why are we wasting our time on this dead-end prison/baby plot B.S.?

It is back. Check channel 131. They fired it up just in time for the second airing of the walking dead.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Show just got more interesting. Groups of survivors destined to compete?

Shit's getting real. Finally.

Thought the zombie head aquarium was a nice touch.

Who IS "The Governor" anyway?

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Ok, I really, really like this show, but the halfass attention being shown to the characters' weapons for a show in which weapons are such a MAJOR component, is really rubbing my ass RAW!!!

I can overlook a lot of stupid shit like maglite suppressors, 10yr old kids making consistent headshots at 100yds w/ a 9mm pistol, & the occasional shot of a weapon firing multiple times without the action cycling, especially if it's in the background. That's b/c I know that mistakes happen.

But when I watched the scene where the "Governor's" crew ambushes the Nat. Guard convoy, & he picks up a dead soldier's sight-LESS M4, & proceeds to pick off a running target at distance using nothing but the front f###ing sight, it makes me want to use the black ninja-chick's sword to castrate the entire prop dept!!!

I don't think any of the soldiers' M4's had any type of rear sight/optic. No wonder 1 stray walker turned their compound into a giant clusterfuck!

Re: Walking Dead back this week

ya..i noticed that too...turned to my wife and said...hmm...that guy is shooting without a rear sight...pretty friggin awesome shot

Well, as I understand it, the show is filmed in Canuckistan, and Hollywood types don't know shit from shinola when it comes to guns anyway.

It's like that "journalist's guide to guns" meme on the web.

Guide-to-Firearms1.jpg

If you know nothing about guns, anything that looks like gun is an AK47.

Rear sight interferes with your lead actor's face in profile, take off the sight. Take 'em all off so they all look the same.

Interesting that no one in Rick's group was smart enough to scrounge guns in either season. Must be why the Governor's little town is so successful.

They obviously aren't Canadian.

I agree. Daryl is easily the best character, followed by Glen and then Shane (which makes it sucky that he went ape-shit and died).

On the other hand I've read a synopsis of the comic, and it's pretty brutally depressing. I'm not gonna give away any spoilers but I'm just gonna say it doesn't end very well.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

I just recently started watching this junk. I watched season 1 and 2 in less than 36 hrs about a month ago. Damned Netflix and cliffhanger endings kept me glued! I would have gotten some sleep that night if a single one of these season 3 episodes would have been mixed into the first 2 seasons. Season 3 is off to a terrible start IMO. I just want to see survival techniques and zombie killing! If I wanted to watch politics, I'd watch every other channel.... I don't know how those soldiers in the last episode made it so far. Their situation awareness and reaction time was terrible! I pray every Sunday morning that Carl will shoot himself in the gut when he wets his pants watching his new baby brother/sister chew its way out of his whore mother. If Rick's soft-hearted ass will off himself after witnessing such a jubilation, the show will stand a good chance of being tolerable.

Too funny I did the same exact thing but my wife just looked at me like huh? what?

At first I was all like, YAY!!!! Dead snarky woman! Then I was all, oh crap is that Daryl in the end of the preview getting bit?!

T-dog was really just a secondary character anyway. I was bummed to see him die though, I wold have liked to see him outlive the rest of the pack. That being said, how great is it that we're finally cutting dead weight (the mom)..

Two down, four/six to go.

I watched it on the DVR and thought the same thing...but I have the power of rewind...its not Daryl being bit.

The drama queen was a good bit of dead weight to offload. Hershel and Daryl make the show.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Hershel is looking like a post-apocalyptic Santa this season.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

With Olive Oyle gone, Rick will hook up with Samurai girl.

His son gets to hook up with Herschel's crazy daughter just before SHE gets bit (can't let a pedophile female get away with this, even post-apocalyptic fictional TV land).

Hizzoner the Mayor will turn out to be some lord high muckety muck government agent type, a Senator or NSA/CIA spook, his "doctor" the guy who invented the virus, or let it escape. They're both connected somehow.

Show's getting better. Let's see more walker-clearing exercises. Most simple way is to herd them into a fenced pen, close the gate and pour gas/diesel on them. Shovel, rinse, repeat. They could have that prison cleared out in a couple days' time.
The county in a week, state in a couple months. No organization, prior planning.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Am I the only one who can't stop looking at Michonne's ass when she's walking away? Or is it just me?

Re: Walking Dead back this week

I'm with Norm. Zombie clearing exercises should be manditory per every episode.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

What's left of the group are starting to drop like flies in the last episode.
Why the "F" did the Governer have his cronies slaughter that National Gaurd Unit? And why the hell were they caught with their pants down lounge like they were on vacation?

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Some reasons that I recently talked to a friend about with regards to the guard.

First is that you have a group of guys that work together as a unit, with their own supplies, and chain of command. These loyalties to each other and the gear that keeps them alive might not make them want to submit to the rule of another very easily.

Another reason from a "peace" standpoint is that with the rule of law gone, some guys (like Big Tony in season 2) cannot be trusted around women or other sheeple. It seems that Woodbury is a prime example of people who want to be sheep and live in a fantasy world. Bring a bunch of roughnecks used to surviving on the ragged edge, and they might take what they want or rape some women.

I think this second reason pretty much applies to every group that you encounter: the deep question of ... is this group going to be peaceful with my people, can we coexist and increase our strength together, or is there going to be a danger to my family, women, children and supplies when I turn my back.

Which leads me to think that the Governor pretty much just wanted their crap to add to his toybox.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

first off, lorie is gone good ridance and the baby crying will be a great zombie magnet.

the governer seems to me to be a serious psycho disguised as a good guy for now, the future will tell.

Tdog, RIP.

carl, kick your dad in the balls and wake him up.

cheers

I thought it was filmed in Georgia, and I agree on your second point.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Also, when TDog died, why didn't he turn into a zombie? No one shot/hit him in the head. Or did I miss that?

My take on that is that sometimes the zombie eat fresh meat and sometime they just take a taste test bite. My guess is that TDog tasted good.

No...the gal walked away while he was getting eaten

Yeah, she was preggo in the 2nd mid-season. Its unknown, but fairly certain its not Ricks. Shane lost it at the end of the season and Rick put him down. So, he found his wife was cheating, she is pregnant, father unknown, his best friend wanted to kill hime, so he killed him first. I can see where a few marital issues would evolve. Seems he had one of those "dont know what you have till its gone moments". That and knowing his son was the one that put her down might have been a clincher too.

Btw, if you didn't want spoilers, you should've said so.

The only thing you didn't mention is that they bored viewers to tears by sitting around a farm and turning the show into season long soap opera while only killing three zombies. Let's face it season two was totally lame.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

You actually see the moment Rick and Lori end during the last moments of the season two finale. She is hugging him and he tells her that he killed Shane.

Lori backs away and Rick reaches for her and she has nothing but hate for him, and refuses to let him touch her.

I am guessing for the next few months (winter time which we didn't get to see), he focuses on the group safety and first watch/keeping busy until she falls asleep.

Re: Walking Dead back this week

Those are some pretty goods reasons SquarePizza, I didn't think of it like that. I did assume that he wanted their toys though. I would think that I'm the situation the N.G. Unit was in they would have been a little more diligent.
