I am looking through alot of posts about new chassis comming out.. most of them are fine and look "High-speed". Just one problem, most of them are solid pieces of aluminum.

Around here, half the year temperature is around 50-20 fahrenheit, wich makes the stocks very cold to the touch after just an hour or two in the field.

From what I can see, those that are made for a colder climate is, McMillan, AI, AIAW, Sako TRGs... most of the others comes with picanty rails and bare metall.

If you're looking for a chassis, also consider the manners chassis.
Regular stocks like McMillan, HS Precision, etc should be fine to the touch, but check with manufacturers if they can handle the temps.

And of course AI's and sako's were made with cold temps in mind. They would be my first choice.

How about get the one you like, and wear a pair of gloves if the hand guard gets too cold.
Manners mini chassis is a good choice though

I'm not sure I would take cold weather advice from someone from HOT-lanta!

I forgot Manners.. I have been in contact with them for the last days about a stock I want. Sorry about that.

Shoot a coat of Rhino-liner or whatever spray bed liner your local automotive shop has available. Will do a few things, protect the metal from mars, give you grip and help handle the cold/hot extremes.

Bingo.

Even the AICS and the like have exposed aluminum on the bottom.

Contact gloves are your friend.

I have a McRees, and between a stock pack, skid pad, and gloves I do just fine. The stock temperature has never been the limiting factor here in Fairbanks.
