Re: Stepping Up To the Plate

Mike, Great looking project. Curious about price and timing for a 605. Can you get me the details as you are able? Thanks.

Re: Stepping Up To the Plate

Hey mike, I'd like one of these, but just curious if I need to send an action in or if I can order one of these as a complete package?

FSR,
I'll add you to the list and Michelle will be in touch. You'll need to let us know if you have an Remington 40X to convert to a repeater or if you'd like a build based on the BlackOps Model 605 Rimfire Repeater.

Re: Stepping Up To the Plate UPDATE for 9-14 NEW PICS

Mike, with regard to your Ravage setup on the 605 action, I'm curious as to what kind of accuracy is being squeezed out of this bad boy. I saw Ranger's post about poppin' steel at 400+ yards regularly which is just disgustingly accurate for a 22. That being said, I know the .22's ballistics aren't great by any stretch of the imagination but will the Ravage's accuracy guarantee (if quoted) rival that of your other product lines (i.e., 3/8 or 1/2 MOA)?

Either way, amazing work and thanks for keeping everyone continually updated on status here. Top notch.

Ducky,
The accuracy we're getting is in direct line with our centerfire rifles. I've done a lot of group shooting at 50, 75 and 100 yards to establish an average, and therefore, our Rimfire guarantee. We're easily getting 1/4 minute or less at 50 yards with quality ammo. I'll land on what we're going to publish for the actual guarantee pretty soon.

Re: Stepping Up To the Plate UPDATE for 9-14 NEW PICS

can i be added to the 605 list or do I need to contact Michelle at this point?

I would love to hear some feedback.

All of the Remington 40X Repeater Conversions that were shipped in have been completed. The first 30 Production Samples of the BlackOps Technologies Rimfire Magazine have been completed and we're doing some final testing. Once everything is signed off (test fired, final QA, etc), we'll be shipping the conversions home.

^^EXCELLENT^^

Prob no chance of getting it before the weekend of the 15th?
There a rimfire comp I could kick some ass at and do a review of it in action.

Cool if not. Just excited is all.

Re: Stepping Up To the Plate

Are you planning to get to a point where someone can just call up and order a 605 without having to wait 6 months to a year to receive it?

Thanks Smag. The SPORTER version is completely different and won't share any of the magazine components you see here. More details to come later, as I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet. </div></div>
Hey Mike -

I've been on the Model 605 list since you announced it and was planning on going with the Model 605 Repeater action and building it into a Sporter. Now I've decided to convert a 40XB instead. You may recall that I originally gave you the idea of a "door"-hidden magazine because I wanted to make my full-size .22 LR look just like my .308. However, I'd favor expedient and easy magazine changes over a floorplate-hidden magazine, especially if an exposed magazine and magazine latch would be flush or near-flush with the bottom of the stock.

If you aren't set on a particular bottom metal type for the Sporter version might you consider a one-piece unit incorporating the trigger bow and a magazine slot like on the old Kimber of Oregon Model 82A and 82B Sporters, or maybe a two-piece unit incorporating the trigger bow and a magazine slot like on the old Kimber of America (Oregon) Model 82C Sporters?

Without <span style="font-style: italic">"letting the cat out of the bag"</span>, can you tell me if the Sporter version's bottom metal will be a one-piece unit incorporating the trigger bow and a slot that the magazine is inserted through, a one-piece unit incorporating the trigger bow and a "door" that hides the magazine, or will the trigger bow be separate from the magazine and magazine latch/release.

Below are three photos of the one-piece bottom metal used one the Kimber Model 82A and 82B Sporters, as well as one photo of the two-piece bottom metal used on the Model 82C Sporters. If you are interested I could remove the bottom metals and take some photos of the magazine catch for reference to give you an idea of the geometry of how your Black Ops Magazine would need to interface.

Whatever floorplate or bottom metal design that you go with, please put me on the "40X Sporter Conversion List". TIA.

How long these guys need?

</div></div>

Sorry Guys, a bit of a technical glitch and I couldn't log in to respond.

As I mentioned previously, all of the conversions have been completed and are ready to ship. The first 30 Production Samples for the magazine have been completed and passed the testing protocol. The Production Samples are moulded from a PolyCarbonate and will not hold up to cleaning chemicals. The Full Production version of the magazine are moulded from a different (more expensive) material and are in production now. With the infrastructure I have for magazines, we can turn out 10,000 a week.

The real hitch here is that my Patent Attorney isn't quite ready for me to ship magazines. I thought we were there just over a week ago, but I don't have to explain how Attorney's can be.

I'll keep everyone updated and get the Patent stuff squared away ASAP. Sorry for the unfortunate delay.

Re: Stepping Up To the Plate

Not like you can effectively defend a patent anyway. I know of several international multi-billion dollar companies that can't defend their patents in this country... so instead of wasting money trying, why not do what they do? Produce your product and make sure its the best there is, and ensure you support it. THAT is how you protect your position in the marketplace. Not with lawyers.

You "stepped up to the plate" THREE YEARS AGO. (minus a couple weeks) To say that today you aren't completely ramped up on production for these various projects, to include the 605, and then blame your patent lawyer?

Don't make me laugh.

Seriously... Don't.
