We're all set for the movers clinic.

ONLINE REGISTRATION - NOV 18 MOVERS CLINIC

Same as last year. $50, shoot as much as you want.

Short guns from 0830 to 1230 or so at 200 and 300Y. After they have had their fill, we will move back to 600Y and it will be long ball only.

We are capping it off at 30 shooters.

This always fills up so if you register and either no show, or cancel within five days of the clinic, you will endure the indignity of being placed on a pre-payment, postal money order only status.

Freddy-
I just got back from a business trip and saw this class and looked at my calendar. I'm going to be out in LA on another business trip for this one. Damn! Anyway, looks like a fun day - good luck with it.
see you at Mayberry this weekend.

This sounds like more fun than a guy should be able to have with his clothes ON!!

But heck, I get a woody just going into our local dry cleaners and watching the revolving rack go up and around.

What do you guys use for movers? I didn't see it on your website.

Re: BHTC Moving Targets Clinic, Gap PA Nov 18

A 1x3 with a 12" piece of cardboard on it. To that, we typically affix a B27 repair center. But since this doesn't have to be scored and we're just interested in hits, we will probably use two 8.5x11 pieces of paper stacked to show the same size.

We may throw some balloons in there depending.

I am signed up and ready. Need to practice my movers so I can win like Freddy. Congrats on your series win! Great shooting.

Re: BHTC Moving Targets Clinic, Gap PA Nov 18

Thanks guys,

And thanks to White Marsh Arms for the EOTech I picked up, and to the series itself for the coupon for a match next year.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't put an AAR thread up.

It was a truly fantastic series, and well worth the trip to shoot each one.

The scores were close every time. This speaks to a challenging, and well designed course of fire. There was competition there, and they didn't come to mess around....

They are a highly organized crew down there, and they are doing it right. Scoring was transparent and fair.

My favorite stages of the series were the "find and engage the camo sniper team" and of course the moving targets.

I could shoot movers all day and love it (in fact I will in November.. heh heh..). I also like those timed exposure drills they do with the door opening and closing on you.

It was the first series I competed in, and I absolutely loved it.

Yeah Freddy,

I had a ton of fun there too, first helping run a match and then competing alongside elite shooters like you. Congrats on the win - you competed outstanding all season and consistently were on top of the leaderboard. In my industry - investments - consistency is the sign of greatness, proof that results are not just randomness, so GREAT work.

My favorite stages were the running stages. Next year, two laps around pond? Two laps in 3 minutes?!?!

And a HUGE thanks to Dave Kohnow at Long Range Accuracy. He is hooking me up with one of his tactical bipods with QD. What a treat to take that off the prize table.

Thanks bro. I'll do two laps, sure... Or give them a choice. One lap, it's a 50 point shot. Two laps, it's a 100 point shot... hehe...

You're going to love the LRA. Best bipod on the market by FAR.

I'm pretty sure there's one fellow in particular that drips chicken blood on some kind of religious statue every time I have something scheduled.

Re: BHTC Moving Targets Clinic, Gap PA Nov 18

Thanks to everyone who came out to train on movers.

I would call it a very successful day, and extremely challenging.

Engaging moving targets is a necessary skill that is often overlooked because there is rarely an opportunity to practice shooting them. That's the barrier that we sought to break down.

We shot walking movers at 200Y, then walking and running at 300Y, then we moved back to 600Y for both walkers and runners.

Shooters were encouraged to try different methods of engaging them (track, trap, swing-thru).

Targets were 11x17 sheets of paper on cardboard.

There are formulas and calculators that can tell you what your lead should be, but there is absolutely no substitute for putting it to work - mindful practice with good feedback and observation.

Shooters engaged movers until they had enough, or they ran out of ammo.

We will be doing probably a couple of these in 2013.

Here are a couple short videos of the day.
