Re: Official MidwayUSA Codes
As much as I'd love free shipping on everything, make sure you understand what makes it add up. I run a logistics company and deal with this every day, so I thought I'd offer up some insight. First I'll say I ordered 2 pistol mags from them a few weeks ago and was able to ship them for about $4 (UPS Mail Innovations or USPS were same price), which was very fair. I noticed on a previous order where I was trying to get to $100 (or $150 or whatever) to use a coupon that when I added a $2 bottle of rem oil then usps was no longer an option and that $2 item would have cost me an extra $7ish to ship. So think about what is in your cart if usps doesn't show up- I bet they don't send any liquids or aerosols with them.
Then if you live in a rural area (like so many of us likely do) UPS will charge a "small town fee" (FedEx calls it Delivery Area Service, can't recall what UPS calls it but it's there) which is $2-3 and a residential fee of $2-3, so there's about $5 right there in extra fees that get passed through. UPS doesn't reduce those fees too much regardless of discount. Plus the way ground discounts work it's on a matrix, so maybe they only get a 5% discount under 5lbs, 6% through 10lbs, on & on. And I'd expect any company to have a small handling charge (maybe 10% of their freight cost) to cover packing supplies/labor
Happy shopping!
