Looks like the next rifle is going to be a 6 Creedmoor instead of the 6.5 Creedmoor... Looking for some load details from you guys that are already running it...

Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with all these loaded 6.5 Creedmoor factory loads I have sitting here... Maye time to start pulling bullets.

    Winchester Brass - 22-250
    Wolf Primer
105 - 115 bullets. All are Hbn coated

    43.5gr H4831SC

    2950 fps
In the Benchmark 1:7.5 at 27 inches with the DTAC 115's

    2980 fps
Brux 1:7.75 at 28 inches with the DTAC 115's

I have 4350 and Varget data, but this is much more consistent and holds great vertical at 500 + yards.

I am now shooting 44.0 gr H4831sc and coated DTAC's. I am shooting to 7.0 mils at 980 yards. I have not chronoed the load, but based on today's DA of 1580, the load is doing right at 3000 fps.

    Adam,
The shoulder is further forward, you don't have to crush the shoulder of 22-250's to make the brass. 6mmBR has the drawing of the 6.5 creedmoor and the SAAMI drawings are available by link through PTG if you want to compare the actual measurements.
The slight case capacity increase is nice, you don't have to push the pressure to get the 2950+ mark with the 105-115 like you do with the XC.

    Jerry,
Just something different, maybe a bit less powder, but not economically significant. Can long seat the 115's and still fit in a mag.
I have brass with 10+ firings, I haven't trimmed it. That is enough for me.

    Nope, formed Winchester 22-250
I do have some loose pockets, but no stretch.

The advantage shines in a AR10, and because Hornadee ammo is cheap the 6.5CM brass is left on the ground at a lot of matches.

    Re: **6 Creedmoor**

I shot my 6.5 for the first time today. Great round. Super accurate. No recoil. Can't wait to stretch its legs. Only shoot 100yards today. Groups for load development. Side note TBAC 30p-1 works great on it. No hearing protection needed.

How many firings are you all getting out of your brass? Mine get's pretty chewed up running in the GAP-10.

My load is 2.74" OAL, 41.6 gr H4350, Hornady brass, Federal 210M primer.

I need to do some more verification at longer ranges, but I'm only dialing in 7.0 mils or less to make hits at 1000 yards on a 24" x 24" piece of steel. So from this it's telling me my velocity is around 3000 fps.

    Re: **6 Creedmoor**

I'm still running new brass. But the one's I've fired through my GAP10 don't look chewed up at all. It doesn't matter if I've run it suppressed or unsuppressed, the only difference is more carbon if run suppressed.

23" barrelled GAP10 41.2gr H4350 gets me 3050FPS in 95*+ at 1250ASL. My high node load is 41.8gr H4350 with 105BTHP I don't recall the speed there other than faster than 41.2gr pretty close to 3100 though.

    ...Next 6mm Creedmoor Barrel..

This data is from my 21.5" Benchmark 1:8 barreled bolt gun

    Winchester 22-250 brass
    Wolf Primers
    105 Amax

    40.2gr. H4350
    7.2 mils to 980
I haven't put it across the chrono, but it should be just over 3000 based on the proven data.

That looks like pretty good performance in such a short barrel. How's the presssure there? Have you done any work with 115s?

The Pressure: No worries, easy bolt lift, firm primer pockets and rounded edges on the primers..granted they are Russian primers so they are a bit harder...
    These velocities are with A-maxes...

I have not used the Dtacs or Bergers in this barrel so I can't comment with the short barrel. I have some Bergers loaded from another barrel, might try them in the am...if I do, I will post the short barrel results.

I re-measured the barrel, it is 21.5 from the lug..so 22.5ish OAL on the barrel...

I'm going to load some at 42.0 and 42.5

Accuracy was ridiculous, all 5 shot groups and nothing over 1/2" it was sick
One rapid fire 10 group at just over 3/4"

pretty happy with the first 40 rounds. I slung some at 500 with that were loaded w 40grns. 2.8 mills was my hold so easy it wasn't much fun :)

    Alright y'all -

Those of you who have experience with this caliber, please help me save a little on components in these crazy times. I now have my new 6 creedmoor boltgun together. I have Hornady brass, 105 Hybrids and H4350. I am figuring on doing an OCW-ish style work-up starting at maybe 40.6 and going up to 42.0 to start - probably in 0.2 increments.

The rifle is a M2008 sitting in a KRG W3 with a 24" 8 twist Krieger. Am I too far afield here?

That should be good to start, let us know what your velocity is, Ill have to estimate mine by trajectory figures alone. Figuring to get in the 3200 range.

    I'm using RE17 with the 105 Hornady's.

I'm loading 41.5gr, but I'm using a gas gun, so you may be able to go higher in your bolt gun.

    did a little more loading
    42.0 grains IMR 4350 2940fps 2.76" AOL
42.5 grains IMR 4350 3030fps 2.76" AOL. the group opened a little but I didn't have enough round to verify and confirm the load or if it was me. This round sounded hotter, primer a little flat but other wise no problems. I going to load up 15 at this load and 15 at 42.3 and see which one shoots best, then I'm off to the races.

My goal was to be anywhere north of 3K so I'm good

Loaded up some more, accuracy was falling off the hotter my loads became..... so I pushed the bullet further in to the case and loaded up some rounds

    42.5gr IMR 4350 2.72 3030fps

    42.8gr IMR 4350 2.72 ????fps

still no pressure signs results were great I went from .75-1" groups to 1/2" this was averaged over 3 different 5 shot groups
    with the 42.5 I laid down a 2, 5 shot 3"ers at 500

I'm going to bump it back to 2.70 and see if it tightens up a bit more but if not I'm pretty happy w/ it as it.

Are your charge loads accurate? I truly don't believe that you are running over 43grains of H4350 let alone 44 grains, especially since the velocity doesn't make sense given those charges. I may be wrong though. :D

Ya I'm gonna have to go with Pap....if those charge weights are right. You've either got a REALLY shitty lot of H4350....or a horribly slow barrel.

I just did initial load development on my Bartlien and 42.5 was pushing about 3100.....that was with less than 50 rounds through the barrel.

My chrono was closer to 15 foot from the barrel and the conditions could have effected the readings. I haven't ran this load past 300 yet and it may be a lot faster than my chrono was reading that day. The col is 2.805ish. BTW this is a .236 barrel. As it breaks in it may pickup more speed. This lot of 4350 has given 3k in my 260 with a 130 bergers. On some of the tests it was showing 3130 @ 43.4 and 3200 @ 44.0. I'm hoping to see the velocity settle in and we'll see what the numbers are then.
The CM has been checked against a beam scale several times. This doesn't mean that they are right but it seems unlikely for both to be wrong.

Gotcha...then sadly lines up with what I've heard about Brux's.

Well, I got my 6 Creedmoor yesterday and took her out same. I used 41.5 for my break in, which shoot fairly well, but this rifle seems to really like 42 grns of H-4350 @ 2.80 COAL. The 105 Berger Hybrid's avg is 3168 fps with the 26" Med Palma Bartlien Barrel, Badger BM, Badger MB, Manner's T-5 adj and Jewel trigger on the trued Rem 700. So far, I only have 48 rounds down the tube. The flyer on the 3rd target was my first shot of 6 and I pulled it, but the other 5 seemed to settle well.

The rifle was built by Moon of Crescent Customs who did an outstanding job!

I'll load some up and try and get out Thursday. I'll go to 300 and then out to 760 yards, which is the max at the range I'll be at. Will take photo's and report how the rifle does at distance.

I agree with Papa, Im getting 3144 with 41.9grs H4350 from a 28" Bart. barrel, 3080ish is really slow with that charge. Brux barrel, huh? hmmmmmmm

I'll try for that, but I don't think I can shoot that well at 300 yds! That's damn good shooting Gorski! I don't know what reamer Moon used, but I would say it may be the same.

I think the rifle is a shooter, had a .402 going then 1 flyer 1" to the left, grrrrrrr!!!!
That was with 41.9grs H4350, again, 300yds. The rifle does all the work, I just pull the trigger.

Well, I was able to get out early this am for some quick shooting. I didn't have much time or ammo loaded up, but I went away. Here are the results of todays shoot. Again, I was using 42 grains of H-4350 @ 2.80 COAL, 3168 fps. The first paper target @ 300 yds, I sent 3 shots. I could not shoot near as well as Gorski, but I tried. The next is a 3 shot group at 600 yds, did not adjust. Shot the next 2 shots at 656 yards, then 1 shot at 712 which hit the left side head of the silhouette target, I adjusted my elevation down and fired 2 more, my last 6 shots went into the silhouette target at 760 yards. Every shot hit the target, I just need to go and fine tune my dope. I was using shooter off my iphone for my shooting data. The silhouette target's are 14"H x 9" wide. The Sq plate is 12"x12" I did not adjust the elevation or windage after those 3 shots.

When I load up some more ammo and have several hours to spare, I'll go out and really fine tune the dope, but for now, I just want to see what the rifle would do.

Gas gun 41 gr H4350 and the 105 Hornady at 2.750 or 105 berger hybrid at 2.800

Bolt Rifle 42.2 H4350 and the 105 Berger Hybrid at 2.815

This is with the GAP 6mm Creed Reamer and it has .199 FB length may vary if you rifle was cut with a different reamer.

in a Bolt Gun 43 grains of H4350 is absolute max and may even be too hot in some rifles. (44 gr is crazy hot and dangerous)

i'm falling in love with this caliber.

George rebarreled my rifle in 6cm earlier this year. I'm using 42.00g H4350 and the 105 hybrids and getting 3140 fps. accuracy is phenomenal.
