I think this year in particular has shown that although the SEC has set the bar, the rest of college football is not sitting on their asses satisfied with being less.
It appears that the SEC has bought into the "Toughest Conference" hype and obviously forgot how they got to be the "Toughest Conference"
It is obvious that everyone else is not going to sit around and be considered inferior to SEC teams. As demonstrated by both Florida and LSU's "deer in the headlight" looks by both the teams and the coaches. Their expressions were priceless!! WTF "this isn't supposed to be happening"
My hats off to both Clemson, and especially Louisville last night. They really came prepared and hungry to prove they were not intimidated!!! And regardless of what' happened in the past, today is a new day. Game on!!!

That is why I love college football. It is all about who shows up prepared dedicated and hungry to win.
I remember a certain Hurricane team that was coming off a great season, undefeated, and had multiple championships (4 in 9 years I think)and went to New Orleans and talked smack the whole week and got denied another championship by the Crimson Tide. Clearly Miami had more talent and better coaching and a harder schedule that year. But Bama wanted it more, they kept their mouths shut and worked hard and ended up giving Gene Stallings a win he could only dream about.

Florida did not show up to play this game. They thought they were going to be playing OU (projected) before the teams were officially picked.
I love college football... when the get a real playoff system to crown a real champion, i'll truly be happy.

Game was the sequel of Bammer's vs Utah 2008. "Let Down" Bowl in the minds of the Gators. Got their asses beat by a good but less talented team that was proud to be there and had something to prove. They did.
Congrats to Charlie Strong! The guy is 52 but looks like he could suit up today and play linebacker. Hopefully he'll be a head coach in the SEC one day (if he wants to).

I don't usually bet against the SEC during bowl games (if Tennessee can't be there, atleast we're represented), but I was rooting for Louisville. I really like what Strong has accomplished there, and wish we had been able to pick him up. He's building an absolute powerhouse up there. I can see Louisville being the real deal.
