Well I have wanted one for a while so I jumped. Tell me what you think.

First is a Para Black Ops
Second is a Springfield Champ Operator.

Congratulations on the good looking pistols! I don't know about the para but I've got a Springfield M1 G.I. and I like it. My brother has a Springfield TRP and it is frickin Sweet. I particularly like Springfield's wood grips. How do they shoot?

Be very careful, the 1911 bug can be highly addictive. Nice guns. Wouldn't have been my first two choices but that's the fun of it. Shoot the hell out of em and enjoy!

That Para is a great looking rig. I have a Springfield Operator now after selling my Kimber... won't be selling the Springfield :) I can see a Para on my horizon very soon.

Welcome to the 1911 club. You started out with some nice ones. As others have mentioned above, 1911s can be very addicting! I started out with a couple Springfield Champions back in the 80s and haven't looked back! They are fun to shoot and if you want to get some cheap pratice in, buy a .22 conversion kit.

VERY nice looking. That Para is especially sharp all blacked out. Does that Springer have a bushing or bull barrel? Cant tell from the pics. Congrats on the fine pistolas.

I carried the 1911 all through my Navy carrier, and as my go-to CCW pistol since 1989. The only change I have every done to "John's" design is to equip the hammer and safety with the " Safety-Fast" upgrade. It would be very hard to describe just how this works,so check this out:

I have had this upgrade for three years now. No parts are cut, damaged or frame modifications done.Anyone who can use hand tools can change over the pistol in 20 minutes.
I have used this pistol in many competitions and always have to lend the pistol to other shooters to try out. Many of the police officers here have converted their pistols and love the safety of carrying the pistol with the hammer down.
Don't knock it until you try it.
I'm not affiliated with Cylinder & Slide. It is a product that really works.

It would be the heavy or bull barrel.

Thanks guys. Took the wife and let her shoot them now she wants one. She really likes the Springfield and now that is what she wants for her carry gun.

The Para had a good feel so I thought what the hell. All I have shot out of both is crappy cheap ammo. I have to say I was inpressed with both. The para I had some questions about but it shoots pretty good I think.
