Me and my dad have several 1750 pelican cases and love them. We cut out the original middle layers for our deer rifle and shot guns since those were our most popular rifles we would carry but I would like to buy replacement foam so I can switch them out when I want to carry different rifles. Does anyone Know where to look for the best price? I dont want the pick and pluck foam.

Thanks!

Take a look here:

http://www.caseclub.com/

They will cut to your dimensions and they have the higher density foam as well which, IMO, is much better than the standard Pelican or Storm foam in providing good support and protection.

Who at Lewis Arms? I found a Ward Lewis on here but wanted to make sure before I sent him a message... their site doesnt show anything but coatings. As of right now foamerica.com is the cheapest if you get the 3 pack. Its only 65 for all three layers. But they want 40 for just the middle layer.... What am I missing all of my layers are the same size? The dimensions online says they are all 1 5/8 thick as well...

thanks

Yes, Ward Lewis is he. He's a vendor and we are still working with those accounts. His website is not complete yet but he's 100% GTG. Tell him I sent you.

genius not sure where you came up with that number but im seeing 16 per sheet which comes to 48 for three + 12.99 shipping of =60.... that is better Ill have to send Ward a message and see what he says.

thanks again

Hmmm. They raised their prices

I went to the custom size charcoal foam and entered the size I needed (50 1/4" X 13 1/2" X 1 1/2). It came to $9.22 a sheet.

(Last I checked I thought they wanted about $19.50 for three pieces)

Thanks den42 it's really easy to cut the foam yourself. Also I don't have my ar in my hands to measure right now. It on its way from jp enterprise.... ; ) but thanks!

Looks like you can get it a tad cheaper from foam factory if you cut it yourself, a half sheet of 1-1/2 (72"x40") will give you 3 pieces for $23, I dont really think its worth saving the few bucks to have to try to cut it straight yourself though.

I hope this information helps anyone getting ready to customize their gun cases.
When I toured we would carve the case foam so it would customize to all our road cases and equipment
Rather than pay caseclub $140+ for the custom foam to get that custom C&C look.
Go to harbourfreight.com and look at the Chicago Electric 130watt heavy duty hot knife..usually on sale for about $17.00
This knife cuts professionally thru the foam.. Best to use white sewing chalk to outline your equipment, it dusts right off.
Cut on the inside line of the white chalk for a nice fit for your gun, scope, suppressors or other equipment.
Take your time, the knife creates great custom laser line quality which will make your case and equipment stand-out..
Good Luck & pay it forward!

I've had success using a $12 electric carving knife cutting foam for my gun cases....and I can still use it to cut turkey later (try that with a hot wire cutter :))
