Adjusting charge weight for temperature

In recent ladder testing, I identified 42.9gr of Varget to be an excellent place in my rifle. 42.6 was also very good. 43.2 was good, but not great.

The weather has been pretty cold, so I'm concerned about transferring data into the summer. If 42.6 and 42.9 both work well, I imagine 42.7 and 42.8 are fine as well. Since it's been cold, I'm tempted to settle in at 42.7 or 42.8 so that warmer weather pushes me closer to an "effective" 42.9, as opposed to using 42.9 and having the warm weather push the performance toward where it was at 43.2, which wasn't as good.

Is that reasonable?

I have done the same with mixed results. Depends on the gun and powder and probably several other things. I'd say time will tell

Isn't varget super temperature insensitive ? I would imagine with that powder you wouldnt see a huge change.

Holy cow! 8fps over 125 degrees? I don't think i'll ever notice that. There's more variability in my cheek weld and my shoulder than i'll get from a few fps. I doubt 8fps would be enough to push me into whatever the opposite of a "node" is where my rifle would start throwing lead randomly.

Thanks.

The temp effects between "frigid", "cold", "cool", "nice" and "too damn hot" is precisely .0875 grains per step. More or less. ?? ;)

So to add to this..
I am shooting in really cold weather right now. about 10-15 F.
And am worried that if I am close to max pressure , what will happen when the temp rises into 50-70F degree days ?
Will I be over pressure. I could currently add .5 grains to my load and still be OK.. My pressure testing has showed this , but am unsure about warmer weather
