Nick thats just for you. I have recieved a few PM's already. THere is a guy on here that charges $.10 a case to decap, tumble, and anneal. While I no longer have an annealer, I can decap and clean. I'm thinking $.05 a case to decap, and stainless tumble then for you. USPS prioritry boxes are nice due to the weight limit of 70lbs. If we couldn't meet face to face, I'd use the USPS postal service and tape the shit out of the boxes and ship them back via Priority Mail boxes which cost $5.80 for Small, $12.35 for Medium and $16.85 for Large. PM me if you have any other questions!!

If anyone on the east side is going to both the Findlay Cup and Chris's shoot on April 6th, I can ask Chris to bring the cases back here after the cup and I can have them ready by the time his match rolls around and he can bring them back over!!
 
That sounds reasonable Brendan...and I know you have a top-notch setup ;) Flat rate shipping is the only way to go, if you cant do ftf.

I just bought enough bullets to get me easily through the next two shoots and then some, so I'm back in the poorhouse. Perhaps I'll list a couple aluminum airline travel rifle cases I have in the classifieds, and maybe those 50BMG tracer boolitz I've got in the corner of the loading room too.

Had to laugh at Jake's match how many deals we're going on in the parking lot for powder and primers...We're starting to look like junkies needing a fix for sure.
I'm sure its easier to buy drugs than primers, Varget or H4350 right now lol.

Ive got a good amount +/- 5,000 Wolf SRM primers I used to run in my 6.5x47 if anyone needs them.

Unfortunately Brunos seems to have raised their prices considerably. Which is a pity because their lapua prices were very good. On another matter, anyone going to the Hide Cup in Wyoming this year.

Folks,
I am looking at putting together a .22 rimfire match. I have looked at many things, coming up with stages, trying to figure out prizes, things like that.
So here are my questions for you all.

Would you come to one?

Make it a 10/22 semi-auto match? or make it a bolt gun match? or both?

or stop waisting my time it's a stupid idea. I have lots of these so I can take it if that's the case be honest.

I would really like to do this with a common ammo. Was thinking about a bulk or a less expensive "better" type.
Most likely that would be either provided or purchased at match.

I'd absolutely be interested! I've got a 10/22 but I'd say you should open it to bolt guns too so it'll appeal to more people. What kind of distances are you thinking?

I'd be up for that, but I only have a CZ 452 bolt-action,... but it shoots sweet! Personally, I don't think you should dictate 'ammo' for a match like this. Choosing the right .22LR, and rimfire ammo in general, it critically important and it has to be tuned to the rifle. I've talked with guys who are pretty serious 22LR shooters and have serious equipment (Volquartzen, Magnum Research, Anschutz), and they take GREAT pains to find that special lot number of 22LR that their rifle likes and when they do, they typically order up 10,000 rounds. Even high-end ammo can shoot like a dog in a nice rifle,... there just isn't any substitute for testing 'em out and matching them up. Plus ballistics on various lots, not to mention brands, vary a LOT (excuse the pun). I wouldn't ask you to shoot my 308-load at a competition,... just a thought.

I'll echo blurry6's comments on this. What works well in one .22lr rifle often shoots poorly in another. I've tried a bunch of different ammo in my rifle and even among quality "match" type ammo there's a big difference in what works well and what doesn't.
 
Agree on the two classes for rimfire.
I do understand the dislike for shooting the same ammo as my rifles do not like box a vs b or c.
I was more thinking of the lack of availability and making it a "level" field. If the general consensus is being your own so be it makes it easier on me!

Just a couple of thoughts, obviously there's a world of difference in the accuracy of some of the 22's we have. But its all for fun, bring what you own, shoot what ammo you have, have most distances under 50 yards, have a maximum number of rounds per stage that accommodate those with limited magazine capacity, perhaps max scope power of 9. But if some one has a 10 power its no great deal. Its about having fun isnt.

I have a bolt and a semi in 22, neither are very high quality but I think this would be a blast and not break the bank. Are you looking at having it on the dry side or the wet side of the sate?

Two classes, plus overall.

Match will be in the Wenatchee valley area.
Sounds like you guys want this I will kick it into gear!

Sounds fun! Are you thinking about it being more like a three gun match where a red dot would suffice or something where a little more scope power would help? More accuracy or more speed emphasized?

Looks like I will just have to give the COF and them let the shooter dictate what they want for optics.
Hoping for about 6 stages most at 100yds or less maybe one that is alllll the way out to 200-300yds, crazy long range stuff!

BTW Mike and other business owners I will hit you up for minor prizes...

Some stuff in the 100-200 yard range would be sweet. Much past that and you have to dial a lot of elevation!
 
If you were going to do two classes i think there should be an open class and then a class limiting you to a factory gun with either open sights or a no mag red dot. It would be interesting to see if people can still shoot the old school way with out there 2000 night force.

but for the ease of set up and scoring i think one class would simplify things

I only have a bolt rifle and a pistol,... How about a "2-Gun" competition: rifle (semi or bolt) and pistol :)

All my .22 rifles are semi-auto. I do have .22 pistols though, and I think a 2 gun match would be cool.
 
I'm happy to lend my ruger 22lr pistol / 10/22 rifle & i'm sure anyone needing a couple mags for stages will have no trouble barrowing some :)

The April 2013 practical rifle match at Upper Nisqually Sportsman's club has been moved from the 20th to the 6th of April. There was a scheduling conflict, and the State 4H group needed the ranges for their state wide gathering. We (the practical rifle group) wants to play well with others, so we agreed to move our match from the third Saturday, to the first Saturday for April.

There will be more info to follow after the April match as the club's board of directors is considering what to do with the practical rifle group now that our agreed on series of test matches will have run it's course after the April match. More info will be posted after we find out what they intend to do.
