I was hoping for input from people who have looked through both. Is the HD worth the extra money?

Thanks!!!!

Yes, the HD is worth the extra money. Yes, the glass quality is that much better but it's a lot more than that--the HD is a much higher quality scope in every way. If you want a fixed 10X and have the coin, you won't regret getting the HD.

Yes, the glass is clearer and the mechanics are beefier. I just upgraded from the non-HD to the HD version. I found a used HD on the Hide classifieds for $500, great deal!

Thanks for responding guys. I guess I'll go w/ the HD. I want this scope to last a long time. I feel like I'll get more quality/ $ by going fixed. My other choise was the 3-9 SWFA, but I'm a little worrind about parallax. Thoughts?

Yep that's a great deal. I put an HD on my .308 and have really liked having it. Haven't looked through the non-hd, but mine is really nice...

I've used my SS 3-9 out to 900 yards with no problems. Since you can reduce the magnification there isn't really any reason for parallax adjustment in close and it really isn't bad at distance since with the 9x top magnification.

For those who have the HD model, how easily or difficultly does the focus ring turn? I have a non-HD model for comparison.

Rem 700 sendero. Used for learning to shoot long range w/ match hand loads. Start 400 and work my way out and see where my limits are.
