Yes, the HD is worth the extra money. Yes, the glass quality is that much better but it's a lot more than that--the HD is a much higher quality scope in every way. If you want a fixed 10X and have the coin, you won't regret getting the HD.
Yes, the glass is clearer and the mechanics are beefier. I just upgraded from the non-HD to the HD version. I found a used HD on the Hide classifieds for $500, great deal!
Thanks for responding guys. I guess I'll go w/ the HD. I want this scope to last a long time. I feel like I'll get more quality/ $ by going fixed. My other choise was the 3-9 SWFA, but I'm a little worrind about parallax. Thoughts?

I've used my SS 3-9 out to 900 yards with no problems. Since you can reduce the magnification there isn't really any reason for parallax adjustment in close and it really isn't bad at distance since with the 9x top magnification.
