Just got this guy bolted together and figured I would post some pictures. Forgive the 5 megapixel resolution.
Feeds "Improved" rounds reliably from AIAW, AICS and AIAX magazines :)
Have not shot it yet as the threadlock hasn't even dried yet & still trying to decide on an optics mount.

Bolt handle clearance and alignment...

Tried to get a shot of the clearance, there is a gap there.

Kudos the Badger Ordnance, the inletting job was spot on as you can see from the barrel location in the for-end

Thats an awesome looking rig! post up pics from the range when you get out and shoot it.

Ok now I'm really getting impatient waiting on my 2013 and the AX to be inletted...I like it.

It is a bit tight but if you aren't thinking about it, when in the fire position (forward) you don't even notice it.

Plus, it's easier to manipulate with the firing hand.

I could only guess as to what it might weigh, once optic is mounted I'd say 18 lbs or so.

I have yet to shoot it jwf100p. You can look up my old posts in the reloading forum to see what the rifle was doing in its old stock.

Does anyone know if AI makes a short action magnum magazine or should they be fed from the .308 AIAW magazine? Looking for magazines to feed 7WSM.

I got everything mounted up after work today. Contrary to what I was told by a few here on the hide regarding ring height, Badger Ord. Medium's (1.000 height) landed the objective perfectly, on a 45 MOA mount no less. May be too low for running NV or IR but I rarely have that opportunity.

Anyway, final product, ready for zeroing.

Whatever you do don't clean this rifle ^^^^^, heard barrels go south after you scrub them. If you do wait till it has at least 7-8000 rounds on it!

Accurate mag makes 300 WSM magazines. They are pretty much exactly like AICS mags. GAP and Manners use them in their builds/stocks. Russel at Scout Supply Company (SSC) is running a promotion on them in the group buy section of this forum until the end of march. You may want to check it out.

Forgive my ignorance, but what SB model is that(don't own any)? Looking for main tube and obj sizes.

I called Badger the other day looking for help on ordering the correct height rings for my IOR to clear the rail on the AX chassis when my M2013 comes in and gets barreled. I was told with a 30mm main tube and 50mm objective that 1.00" would clear the rail but that flip-ups wouldn't fit and that the cheek rest height would require 1.25" rings. Ended up ordering std height (low) for my Rem 700 and figure I'll just switch out to the ADM Recon mount I have collecting dust when the M2013 build is done to use with the AX chassis. By your pic I think I would've been fine with the 1.00" med-highs and used them on both rifles if your Schmidt is close to same dimensions.

That's a 34mm tube and a 56mm objective. I'm pretty confident a 50mm objective in 1.000 rings will have a little bit of room, of course with a canted rail it depends a little on how far forward/aft you mount your scope.

Cheek rest height... My scope centerline couldn't get much lower and you can see I have my cheek piece elevated a bit.

did the BO action drop right into the AX chassis? just ordered a AX chassis and now looking for an action, barrel and trigger. Really considering the M2008 or M2013 action just trying to see if any work will need to be done drop the action in?

Badger can inlet the AX for the 2008/2013, its not a drop in because 700's are round and the Badger is flat. Also the handguard gets opened up on the sides a little. I just got mine back from them and am waiting for the action.

oh so you just send your AX Chassis to them and they will make it so the action fits and then they will mail it back? how much did that cost you? i actually have some time since im waiting for them to start shipping out the m2013 and they said 3 to 4 weeks for that.

Yep just send it to them with a check for $175 and in a couple weeks they send it back ready to go. Easy

I've got a flat blade Timney and just got my Obermeyer barrel from Bugholes(thanks guys) today. Its going to be a 260.
