I have some original stocks that are hard to find and was wondering if there is any demand for the following.

USMC M40 repro stocks made from an original?

USMC sporter stock, heavy barrel channel, Pre war? Post war?

Van Orden 70 stock, cut from original.

These could be cut exact, sanded, finished or unfinished. 70's could be checkered or uncheckered. Could get metal fitted if supplied for small charge or owner could fit.

How much interest is there? At what price point. I am asking prior to duplication so we can run all at once or at least gauge demand to some extent.

I could have them done in a few weeks.

    PM with interest.

    Thank You

    Re: Vintage Stock duplication demand

Do you have a pic of the Van Orden stock? Some websites show it looking like a target stock, while some show it looking like the sporter stock without the checkering. Which is it?

    Re: Vintage Stock duplication demand

Is the Van Orden 70 a LONG ACTION?

I would be intersted IF its a M70 LA.

    Thanks
    Matt

    Re: Vintage Stock duplication demand

I need a target/marksman stock for a pre-war Winchester Model 70 with medium/heavy barrel. Not sure if you are set up to do that, but I can't find one anywhere! Thanks, Doug

All pre 64 Mod 70 Winchesters were long action.

    Re: Vintage Stock duplication demand

If you find out a price... Im interested in a target/marksman for a HEAVY barrel.

    Thanks
    M.

    Re: Vintage Stock duplication demand

My interest was in making a few exact duplicates of two very rare stocks. An M40 and a Van Orden. The only questions I have received have concerned if I can do them for under 300 USD. I am not at all interested in that. If anyone wants an exact duplicate of one of these stocks PM me. I might do three of each, no more.

Contact Jesse & Cindy @ Custom Rifle Stocks, in Aaronsburg P.A.
I purchased an old Marksman stock off ebay, and sent it round to them for duplication in AA walnut.
I think also they were going to update the Marksman pattern they had on file, in their reference collection.

The stock shape suggests to me it is Type 1, but the inletting for the rear tang suggests perhaps a transitional model? If we have any resident Model 70 experts on here, I'd be interested to hear their take on this!
It's still got all the hardware (swivels, butt PL, fore-end rail etc) that I was having troubles tracking down. The aim is that I will machine up exact duplicates of these for the custom rifle, rather than pirating from the orginal stock.

    Re: Vintage Stock duplication demand

Brian, Thanks for the lead I will contact them. Your stock from ebay looks like a transition or later variation because it has the football shaped rear tang as oppsed to the cloverleaf shape. Fortunately, I have all the identical hardware from a bubba'd Model 52 stock. Will let you know the progress. Thanks again!

    Guys,
As you can see, everyone wants something different and I am just going to drop it. Sorry.
