After building my underground vault I placed a series of wall racks for several of the rifles in the collection. I left 18" under the shelf to allow storage of other items.
The shelf is made of 1x10 by 8 foot long. Each shelf is supported underneath by 2x2's with concrete anchors.
The barrels are resting on a 2x2 with home made pegs set to 4" apart. The shelf will hold 600 pounds of rifles.
Here are a few photo's of the portion of the vault.

if you dont mind me asking what brand of door did you go with? Im wanting a vault when i build a house

How do you plan to combat moisture in there? The walls appear to be bare concrete

Look at the top of picture 2. There appears to be insulation surrounding a round duct which would indicate heating/cooling?

Vault Doors, Vault Room Doors, Storm Shelter Doors, Safe Room and Panic Room Doors by Pentagon Safes Some here but they seem really pricy. A guy had some new doors for sale here a year ago for about a grand.

There are used bank doors for sale at good prices if you look around.

and others.

I have seen an all stainless, dual comb., time lock, Diebolt safe door sell for $1500 about two years ago. Would have weighed 2500 lbs. It was a work of art. Something like this:

There are small walk in safes available from time to time. They are about 4' x 6' x 7' high. No lighting, about 5000 lbs so not suitable for a home excepting on the ground floor/basement. Can be moved- repositioned with steel rollers. They are good value because they have fire ratings running to hours. Have anti-drill and anti-cutting features that outclass ANY run of the mill "gun safe".

yes but the concrete will wick moisture from the other side, hopefully there's a large dehumidifier involved. Even with a piece of duct tapped into the home's hvac there will be moisture, just temp-controlled moisture

Please understand if I do not provide more photo's. Security is key. The vault is deep underground. There is no moisture. 8% is a wet day. The walls are 18" thick steel reinforced.
The air is moved constantly by a filter system and an ionizer. Dust is a much larger problem than water vapor. The vault does have a sump and pump to the surface if an act-of-God happens. The vault has its own power and battery back up. There are several large safes in the vault as well.
