Hows it going guys first post here, I just picked up my NIB LMT 308 MWSE yesterday while I was cleaning the rifle i noticed a blemish on the lower, I called LMT and sent them a pic of the blemish but they havent gotten back to me yet (its looks like whoever put the lower together scrached the crap out of it and used a black sharpie to cover it up, do you guys think this will be covered under warrenty?
Thank You guys for the input

Not sure if they will cover it under warranty but I can tell you that the MWSE I received a few months back had quite a few small nicks in the finish. I was a bit discouraged because of the amount I paid for the rifle but figured screw it. It's not worth the hassle. Then again my nicks were no larger than the tip of pen, nothing like yours. I've since talked to Gene at LMT about an issue with accuracy and he was a stand up guy. He took care of the issue promptly and I'm now very pleased with my MWS. Best of luck.

This is what I can see in his photo, they look pretty bad.

Yeah, ask for Gene and tell him your a Hide member as he knows a lot of guys here have them and say good things about their products. I am not one to worry about cosmetic blemishes but he needs to see that in email. Did you buy from a dealer or direct from LMT?

Thanks, your posting of it comes across as 749px × 998px where as his is 180px × 240px for some reason.

I agree it looks bad. Probably nothing I would worry about as long as function was not effected and it was simply cosmetic. It will be interesting to see how LMT addresses it.

Thank you guys for all the replies, I wipped the area down with rubbing alcohol and it appears that someone tried to cover up a scratch, Ill just cover it up with a sharpie and call it a day.

I had a similar issue with a Aero Precision .223 COP mono upper I bought earlier this year. It was a tough call as it was only cosmetic, but decided for what the upper cost it should be in better shape out of the box. The CSR from Aero was a little tough at first, but in the end they came through like champs with a perfect replacement and credited me for the return of the blemished upper.

I had a similar problem with a new Colt 6920. I used some Aluminum Black that took care of most of the dings and called it good.
