Feel free to share any fish you may have caught over the winter, in the past, etc... Extra points for on the fly: I'll start it (both of these are from last year). No monsters yet this year...

My wife caught this 7lb smally on 4 lb test and an ultralight, 40 yards from the boat launch in March of last year, right after ice out. I know I'm holding it out but this fish is huge (released it). It came to the surface and my wife said, "Oh look, a fish." I wanted to dive in and lip it even in the face of hypothermia.

I caught this 22 lb channel cat (on my fly rod!) while bass fishing... I didn't know there were catfish in this pond and thought it was some trophy pike or something...right before dark; what a rush! It dragged my boat around for 15 minutes, it came to the surface and we saw the dorsal fin, wife n' I looked at each other and said, "Is that a shark!?"

I know you're going to top these, dare ya...

Went fishing with my partner at work last week, hooked a monster bass within the first 20 minutes. Reeled him towards the boat and at the last second SNAP! He ended up catching around 30 bass and ended with a 6-7 pound hog. I didn't catch a single fish, and I was pissed. Went back the next day and threw in the same spot and rehooked the monster that got away the day before, man it was exciting!

Nice fish gents!!! That bass is an absolute pig! You can have full bonus points for extra pictures, haha. Keep 'em coming...

DSCN2756.jpg Steelhead from the Clearwater river in Idaho. Love to steelhead fish. Usually spend 12-15 days a year at it and I'm 750 miles away.... Bruce

Here's a nice SC inshore slam from my kayak all on artificials and a pic of my 4 yr old's first big bass (7lber).

USNAVY, nice Mahi and Catfish! Beepy, that trout is enormous! Wyldeman, nice bass!...looking forward to seeing those smallies. Gillette, that steelhead is beautiful; I've been working on a steelie trip, hopefully this fall. Skullcreek, those are some beautiful fish, looks like you killed it. Your daughter is spoiled now; does she have the bug yet? Nice bass Skull! They're always sweeter on ultralights... Cheers guys, keep em comin'...

These 2 were both from my pond. Both were caught on 4lb test.

A monster surf perch from CA.

35lb White sea bass.

And this beast. It took me 30 minutes to land it on 6lb test. This was a surf fishing competition and I thought it was a big leopard shark.

OK I thought it might be but excuse my ignorance I am not much of a fisherman besides what native to OK :)
Would love to go pike, musky, salmon, and halibut fishing sometime.

Skullcreek, that's a really nice lowcountry slam! In the time I was living in SC I never managed to hook up a Red, I did catch a nice sea trout and a really nice flattie on my first trip out, but never picked up any of the spot-tails. Hopefully this coming week when I'm down in Chucktown for work again we'll get a nice evening that I can sneak out of work and do a little fishing in the bay.

Nice fish guys, there's some great memories in this thread I"m sure

Some big salmon there !

Skullcreek whats the fish in the 3rd picture?

28 inch flounder. I usually eat them but she was the biggest I ever caught so she got to go back to her home. Old girl was blind in one eye. The sea trout was my longest at 28 inches also and the red was 32 inches. I caught a 25 inch flounder about 30 minutes before I caught the 28 in flounder. Flounder and reds were caught on paddle tails on a lead head and the trout was caught on a hard twitch bait.

That king was just over 65lbs. I caught one the year before, again in the drift boat that weighed in at 76lbs--my biggest to date.

This was last summer while pre-fishing for a night tournament. Both were caught on swimbaits in a California foothill lake with stocker trout. They were both released unharmed, I only put the first one in the livewell because I had a feeling I would catch a second and wanted a group picture.

My 5 year old's first Trout...Caught yesterday........Southern NY Lake Trout...Kensico Res.... Almost pulled him in!!! Caught on a Sawbelly Minnow in a bout 60 ft. of water........Took pic & released....Great Day!!!

That's a heck of a first trout! I've not caught any trout that big to date. I did, however, catch a big bass on my fly rod yesterday...22+", 7+lbs... First monster of the year...

DAAAANG, SON!!! Nice bass. Down here 7 pounders are RARE...I have only caught one to date...If you read the growth chart, a 7 pound Largemounth is like 10 to 13 years old...impressive

My 46th Birthday present to myself in 2004... Caught on a 12lb leader under IGFA rules off Islamorada, Florida... I'm the good looking kid on the right... ;)

Thank you much... was talking with a couple buddies about length, etc. They said it looks closer to 8 lbs and was 24" based on grip length of my rod. I'm going with that. Thank you much for the credit, still pretty excited about her. Put her back if you can find where I caught her. Will give you a hint...it is a pond. :D

I don't think your image posted. If you need help with it, you can start a photobucket account, upload your photo, then copy/paste the img code into your reply. Hope it helps and looking forward to seeing your catch.

26" 10+ lbs...(scale said 10 lbs, my scale is broken and registers lower than accurate, this is probably bigger than the state record, kicked myself the second I set her free). This is the biggest bass I've ever caught and the biggest anyone in my family has caught...on my fly rod but biggest on any sort of tackle.

All caught in 2008, haven't fished much at all the last few years since I got into distance shooting.

Ain't the biggest I've ever caught, but it was one of the more entertaining first casts I have ever made.

Charger, very nice!

Anvil, I'm not sure words do that picture justice. lololol

I'm digging the fin on his life jacket.

Yes, the fin. That was for when we dragged him through the water a short time later trying to attract some of the Great Whites off of Chatham, Ma. His idea.

3 pinks(humpy) and a silver 3rd down
