Hey guys just trying to get pictures out everywhere i can of my truck just in case anyone sees it. My truck was stolen about 2 hours ago (145 am) at 51st and Sheridan in Tulsa, OK. If you just happen to see it shoot first then call authorities. haha I'm definitely kidding about that last part. Just got back home exactly one month ago from 4 years of active service in the Navy, go figure some douchebag comes and steals my sheeet that i worked my ass off for. heres a quick pictures for you guys. thanks for your time.

I am sure they will get caught, they obviously are not too bright. Steal the biggest red-est truck for hundreds of miles. Blends right in, what a bunch if dumb asses. Glad you got your truck back, hope they didn't trash it to bad.

thanks, i get to go find out the damage done (if any) later today. he was definitely not the brightest guy in the world. hell if he needed a ride that bad all he had to do was ask and i may have obliged

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I was wondering what transpired that permitted this guy to get your truck. It seems like a pretty new vehicle, and should have safeguards to prevent driving without a key.
Did he hotwire the truck, or did you leave the keys in it?
Glad you got it back so quickly. In Texas, a stolen pickup is across the border in a matter of hours.
    Thanks.

2008 and Older heavy duty Ford trucks are very easy to steal if factory spec. The door handles get punched and the bad guy can be in your truck and be driving off in it in less than 45 seconds. They have been the number 1 most stolen vehicle in the Dallas Area for a while.

The first thing that I did when I drove my big truck off the sale lot was take it to get a kill switch/FOB installed. It may cost me a new door lock and an ignition but at least my truck will be where I left it.

the truck is a 99' with an 05-07 front end with an 05-07 front axle as well. so it looks newer-ish but has the solid bulletproof 7.3l powerstroke. I do not have a security system on it except for the factory power locks and keyless entry. I was simply just complacent.

Basically i'm an idiot and left it running. I was complacent and the kid did not look sketchy or anything like someone most would think would do something like this.

The kid was standing outside the convenience store, looked like he was waiting for a ride. Hell the part that pisses me off the most is the fact that all he had to do was ask for a damn ride and I probably would have obliged.

Im glad they got your truck back, sucks that some punk just stole it.. I had one guy walking torwards my truck when i left it running, but I beat him back to my truck because if I ever leave it running I park it where I can get to it within 10 seconds, and Im willing to shoot my tires out to stop the truck.... I also give the stink eye to any one near my truck...

I read on the other thread that the truck took some damage. That is too bad.
I asked about what happened since I wonder about mine, sometimes. The kill switch sounds like a good idea.
My alarm just never seems adequate.

Thanks guys, looks like insurance company will be taking care of me. I'm just hoping they will replace the wheel bearing on the front axle, but they aren't sure if they are going to since its an "aftermarket axle". although its just simply an upgrade from the 99-03 axles. My truck has an 05-07 axle on it btw.

Good that the truck was found and that it wasnt damaged to badly.

Is it terrible that I have 2 cars and I could care less if either got stolen? I dont even lock my Jeep since I A.)dont keep anything in it I wouldnt want stolen and B.) I dont want my top cut, even though its only 5 zippers to take all 3 windows out in about 4 minutes I could see some idiot cutting through the top to get in.

Wheel bearings are not all that bad to replace for me anyways.. But that sucks in any case, but if thats all that happened then awesome..

this truck has an 06 axle although its a 99'. So the price difference is almost double the 99-04 wheel bearings. you can't just replace the bearing itself either the whole hubs gotta go which makes it a little more pain staking, although i won't be doing the work, there are also a couple more problems but I'm curious to see what the inspection come back with.

Might ensure there is no evidence that the turd smoked meth in it.

if he did, they need to total your truck.

Same thing happened to a local residential burglary victim.

    just FYI.

So it has unit bearings? If so those are stupid simple to change out. 4 bolts in that truck plus one BIG ASS nut to take off the axle shaft(generally 180ft. lbs so have a BIG breaker bar or an air gun). Unit bearing is around 300 bucks for that truck and is probably an hour to change if you know what you are doing.

Ya I'm just going to let my insurance company take care of all of it. There plenty more than 500$ worth of mechanical damage so I see no reason to buy parts and do it myself when I can simply pay my dedictable and carry on smartly.

oh I totally would let them take care of everything, but in the event they refuse to cover the wheel bearing, its not a difficult change.

Shane, if they won't cover the wheel bearings...get in touch with me if you live here in Tulsa and I'll help you change them out. It's an easy fix and I've changed both of mine out on the front of my '06 F-150 Lariat 4x4.
