Im interested in doing a build off a Tikkia action. Is there any source for a bare action ?
I have a T3 Lite on order in .243 but the barrel removal seams to be an issue. (I hate to cut in with a lathe and ruin something I can sell for the build)
Is it true Rem 700 action wrench can be used and a barrel vice ?
I guiess a simple path would be a Varmit heavy barrel .308 but it looks like they are no longer imported ?
Any thoughts or sudgestions ? (I alreay have a FN SPR) and no thanks on rem 700 or savages.

Years ago you could buy, Sako actions, in the white. I bought several. I wish we had those "good old days back". I'm 100% in your corner, it is too bad that Beretta USA doesn't seem fit to import the entire Tikka Line, or the Sako and/or Tikka actions, I think they'd do well. I've wondered why there hasn't been at least one of the vendors on SH, test the waters with a group buy, the worst that could happen is not enough people would "get on board". Good luck on your build.

You would think actions should be under $400 . I think more than afew would be intrested

I would be highly interested in seeing if there was some way someone could get just a Tikka T3 action. I was planning on doing a budget build .243Win off of one of these and had just figured I would have to buy the entire rifle which I hate to do. I am in the same boat as you guys. Personally, I think there would be a lot of demand for these things. Does anyone have contact with a vendor that might be able to help us out?

I just wish they changed the twist on their .243 from 1:10 to at least 1:9 if not 1:8. Every other caliber seems to have twist that works with heavies other than the .243 offering.

Tikka barrels are not any harder to remove than a 700. They are an easy gun to spin up a barrel for.
