Hey guys,

New to the forums and proud new owner of an R700 AAC-SD. I was curious if anyone has had any experience with using a Karsten Check Rest on a Bell and Carlson A3 (aka light tactical). I have seen a few pictures of them but not many and I can't tell if the check rest will get in the way of the hook on the bottom of the stock.

Any comments, suggestions, pictures, etc. will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Not tried the Karsten Cheek rest. Will say I'm a big fan of the Tac Ops stock pack. Tac Ops Cheek Pad, Multi-Camo : TAC OPS CHEEK PADS | Brownells
Some other packs:
Eagle: Eagle Shooters Rifle Stock Pack
Triad Tactical: Triad Tactical, Inc.*::*Triad Tactical*::*All Triad Stock Packs*::*Triad Stock Pack

No experience with that model B&C stock...but, B&C does make decent and affordable stocks and as long as you either get a bedding block or you have the stock bedded correctly, it should serve you well.

Thanks Thrusty.

I've looked into stock packs and Tac-Ops and Triad are my top picks. I found the karsten and with the B&C A3 hook I like how it kind of resembled an M40A3 type rifle. I'd love to just get the McMillan stock but I'm in my last year at college so just can't afford it.

This is a slow but steady project 

Thanks Bob815!

Very nice looking rifle there. This might sound dumb but if you lower the Karsten all the way down does it interfere with the hook on your stock? I know the purpose is to raise the comb up but I would occasionally like to just drop the Karsten down all the way and throw a stock pack over it so long as it won't interfere with the hook.

Awesome! Thanks so much Bob815. Well now I'm sold, and yet another paycheck goes into the project...but its only money :)
