Early reports have it going 12,284 FPS at the muzzle with only 0.25" of drop at a mile.

with a 24" barrel, that round would clear it in 2 thousandths of second. If the barrel lasts 1000rds, your barrel life would be 2s!

At the SHOT Show years ago, McMillan had a wildcat round on display. 20mm casing necked down to .50 cal. :)

Ah, the .50 FatMac. Didn't they design that as an fclass round or something like that? Imagine the actions for these things.

woohoo, all balistic problems have been solved, no more compromises just pure speed. Mmmmerica.

The one above is a good photoshop job, but Ackley's eargesplitten loudenboomer (yes, that's really what he named it) is the real deal:

WEAK!!! This round will push a 17 grain Barnes WTF 24,000 FPS, They are currently trying to figure out a way to get the barrel to cool faster, right now you must wait 3 days between shots. They are also experimenting with filling in the case through the flash hole to be able to fill up that shoulder a bit better than you would be able to if using a powder funnel from the mouth of the case.
