How long has anyone that has ordered a rifle from TacOps been waiting. Post how long you've currently been waiting so we can see about how long it would take to have one delivered?

Interesting first post.............great rifles, some of the best detail work out there, and worth the wait. Call Mike R., send a deposit, and forget about it until he contacts you.

Yeah, that was kind of my point, it seems taboo to ask or speak of wait times or prices of his rifles. I am a customer and have one on order is the reason for asking. I am a lurker, I find the information on my own but as in this case it's rarely mentioned in public and that is the reason for this post.

What's fishy? A customer ask other customers what their wait has been. Seems pretty straight forward to me unless your trying to hide something

The Question is not Fishy, the fact that its your very first post and you joined the site today is?

The Industry is Crazy right now due to the Dec Jan, buying spree.!

There has always been a high wait times for a Tac Ops, if you are a, "need it now" kinda of person, you probably are setting yourself up for a let down.

If you have not waited at least a year, you need to go back to waiting some more before asking questions on wait times.

Mike is very meticulous and not one to be rushed. Under normal conditions a year gets you warmed up, for that light at the end of the tunnel.

When it shows up, you'll be more than happy, but if you wanted it now, you should have bought a used one.

Thanks Lowlight, that's closer to a reply I was looking for. I just saw one guy that claimed to have waited 30months. That's not acceptable to me sense I was quoted 9months. I have no idea what he was quoted and I understand perfection takes time. Just looking to see what the REAL wait time is. When you pay this much for a gun, I don't think it should be a secret.

Im over a year now but I can careless. I knew what I was getting into and I know the product I am getting. Build times are always a estimate and there are so many variables that can a affect build times. Just hang tight and wait it out. Mikes not going anywhere and he stands by his work like most of the smiths on this site.

Put it this way, I had my Tac Ops Suppressor, in my hand and cleared with the ATF before I had my rifle. Is that a bad thing, no, I have no issue waiting for anything, and I never listen to quotes on how long ANYTHING will take. When you are around this business as long as I have, you learn really fast not to look at the calendar.

How much you paid is irrelevant to be honest, you paid that much because Mike is Meticulous and doesn't let the rifle go until, HE is happy. When you get it you see exactly where the time and money went, but don't expect him to meet any imaginary deadline as it won't happen.

They are not rifles you get if that is your only rifle or you are expecting it for something. If you worked for a PD you probably can count on the quoted time, but if you are John Q citizen not likely... when it shows is when you'll get it.

Basically it is smarter to order it and forget it until the phone rings, :) Then when it does you can do the happy dance.

I'm in total agreement with what everyone had said so far. I should of title'd the thread, "who's waited 2 years or more" now that's a different situation to me.

I purchased a FN SPR from him . Bedded and trigger work. I was quoted 1month. It was real close to the ....let me re phrase...estimate.
Less than a week off.
My trigger is wonderful. The bedding externally looks like clean work. I have not removed the action or fired yet--the range will tell all--

I could be wrong, but I bet you have another smith in mind. I have never heard of Mike at Tactical Operations building FN's or finishing a build anywhere close to 1 month.

Yeah, if you want a TacOps quick, you surf the For Sale section here, they seem to come up in 2-3s every so often. Swapping out an engraved floor plate is no big deal and the rifle is usable while waiting on a new one. Mostly .308s and .300wm, but hey, I would think some .260s are about ready to cycle thru.

When I buy one, that is how it will come into my possession. Did the same thing with my high end smoker, bought it slightly used at a good discount, no tax, and even picked it up in Lynchburg 50 miles south of my house instead of Texas where it was made or South Dakota where it was for sale.

Yep!!! sorry I was thinking Tactical Coordination

I just picked up my Tac Ops Delta 51 on Tuesday, after a 2 year wait. Like many folks on this thread, we were quoted 9-18 months. Nevertheless it took almost exactly 2 years. All that being said, it Delta 51 is a work of art, and 2nd to none. It has exceeded my expectations.

I live in Los Angeles, so I was fortunate enough to meet Mike and spend time with him when I picked up the rifle. He's very passionate about his weapon system and takes a lot of pride in what he does.

In fact I am close to starting another Tac Ops build...300 Win Mag in a Manners T4-A.
