Decided since this is our last 600yd BR Comp of the year Id try a load that shot pretty well at 300yds last year with this 700SPSS. The rifle wears a H-S M24 or Police stock is what they call it, 7oz(appr) Jewell trigger, TPS rings and 20MOA base, 6-24 Burris Signature, load is 47grs 2000MR under 168AMAXs in Lapua brass. Id be pretty happy if the rifle would group 3" at this distance. What's the best one could expect from a rifle like this? BTW, that load is good for 2783fps. Thanks!!

As I mentioned in another thread, the load of 47grs 2000MR went horizontal probably due to the barrel not fitting the front bag(loose) once I did a temporary fix with a rag filling in the missing area the stock fit much better and I tried a load of 46.5grs CFE, that was much better even though the velocity was about the same as the 2000MR load, it went 5", 4 were at 3.1", if that one shot was up by the other 4 my 308 would've shot better than my 6 Creedmoor.

I would try and slow that bullet down to around 2600fps and see how that does for you.

I use CFE powder, and like it very much. When is your final BR comp? If it was last weekend, how did you do?

You know, rather than testing it in a BR comp, I'd see what I could do BEFORE going to the competition. May give you a better idea of how to proceed.

What better way than to test at 600yds? I didnt bring this rifle along to win, just test, I was hoping to do better than I did with my 6 Creed, but managed a 3.625" group, a couple of 4.2" and dont know what the 4th group was, mightve just got into the top 10 for once. The rifle shoots under an inch at 300 but just cant seem to get that same moa out to 600yds. Best group of the day was from a 6.5x47 LAP, 1.361".

I'm saying you don't need the excuse of a match to test it.

Jgorski,

Awesome performance at the shoot! Congrat's and hope you have an even better season next year! :D

I hear ya, it's the only time I can shoot at that range(600) it's not open all the time, only for matches. I hope to do much better next year, Ill have a different 6CM soon, thanks.
