I picked up my new GAP Templar last week and finally got a chance to go out and shoot it today. WOW what an awesome rifle! Spent some time shooting suppressed and non suppressed at 100 then moved back to 600 and shot 1/2 IPSC targets...pretty easy. So put up a bunch of balloons going crazy in the wind and the fun really began! The 6.5CM is pretty damn impressive! I went with a 22" barrel and even though everyone says 26-28" I wanted something a little more compact and plan on running my 30P-1 a lot. With factory Hornady 140g ammo I am averaging 2737 fps so I am pretty happy with that. Ballistic puts me out to around 1350 yards before I start to loose steam. With a little more powder in a reload I think hitting the 2800 area will be pretty easy.

I had to wait for 8.5 months but so far worth the wait!

New to this forum and new to precision shooting as I have said in other posts. Decades of experience with shooting and hunting.

That is an awesome rifle and so glad to hear how you are MORE than pleased. It has to be a great feeling.

i am working on a 6.5 creed build and have contacted GAP. I live in KC and got to go with one of the Iconic BBQ spots int the world and one of the Iconic gunsmiths.

Congrats again on a WOWsome rifle!

thanks I have been there a couple times and got to meet ken, george and the rest of the gang...i grew up in Wichita and go to KC 4 times a year for work so it's rather convenient. :)

I just received my Roberts Precision build in 6.5 with a 22" barrel. I had it built as a hunting rifle primarily, but also as a backup long range gun. I had the barrel fluted to take some weight off of it and threaded with one of his breaks on it, so that I can run my 30P-1 on it, now that we can hunt suppressed in TX. Glad to hear that you are getting good results from the 22" barrel. I did mine in same length for the same reasons...mobility. I have not been able to run it as of yet because of working too many hours at work. I also moved recently and the free time right now has been focused on building the reloading bench for the man cave.
