Lets see your college build or any builds built during hardships where money was tight... No time/no money to shoot but built it anyways.

Here's mine took about 1 year to save up and have it built.
    .308
    Remington 700 receiver trued/blueprinted
    Pt&g bolt
    Timney 517 flat trigger.
Brux 1:10 finished at 24 with AAC brake for my AAC 76.2 SD suppressor
    McRee Chassis
    Harris bipod
    Bushnell 3.5-21x50 HDMR H58 in a recon-qd mount

Nice looking rifle, but from the Thread Title it seems you should post your total cost and time you invested in this project! Hope school is going well for you. Will open many opportunities in the future. Good Luck.

    Awful picture, but:

    IMG_9676.jpg

Savage 10FP action w/ accutrigger (used)
Criterion 26" 1:8 260 Remington varmint barrel (new)
Bell & Carlson A2 Medalist stock (used)

Sans optic, I had just $700 in this build.

I now have this barreled action in a McM A5 with CDI DBM, wearing a Vortex HS-T 4-16x44.

OMG you guys have it rough. I had to sell insulin in college to buy noodles to survive.

So another words your parents paid for your rifle!!

When you are building rifles while "paying tution, rent, books, etc" you definately dont fit in the "no time/ no money" catagory.

Sorry, I just had to quote that literary gem of wannabe trash talking. Dude, from the looks of your writing I would say you need to get your money back. But what do I know; I'm just a grunt who has to live in combat zones to make decent money with my high school diploma.

    Nice rifle.

You guys are having a way different college experience than I did. The rifle I shot during my college years had a Bushnell Banner 6-18 scope and a Boyds laminate stock I finished myself. I could have never afforded components like that during school .....

You really accomplished a lot with your limited budget. Now get your degree and done. If you want to shoot more cheap, just join the Military.

Not as fancy as some of the others, but it's mine.
    - AAC-SD
    - HS Stock bedded with Devcon
    -Timney 510
    -Wyatt's DBM
    -Triad Stock Pack
    -KRG Bolt Lift
    -Badger rings/base
-Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP MOA
    -Harris S-LM
    - YHM Phantom Titanium

    Remington 700 in .308
    Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP
    Fat cat

Only thing that I have planned is a Manners T5A w/ a PTG DBM

I'm new to the long range game so this no doubt isn't as nice as many others.

Every rifle/ build starts somewhere. You're well on your way, plus you have a spotter all ready to go

Better have a can on that bad boy. I had to stock up on a few cans just to keep the kitties happy. The Mrs. even got a can in case she every needs to shoot with the kitties nearby!

Not yet, but that is on the list of things that I'm in the market for after I get a new stock. Luckily, I can legally own then here unlike in Cali, where I used to live.

Total time invested was around a year of deciding what to build and how to go about it. Then another 8 months for the auppressor, as well as 15 months waiting on everything to be put together. I actually had this gun built while I was in the military but going to school as well. I am now out of the military studying petroleum engineering and am in need of some trigger time. So anybody in the Tulsa, Ok area that knows of a place to stretch a rifles legs a bit hit me up!!

Some of you guys wanted me to lay out cost:
Barrel + install and chamber: 500$
    Muzzle break + install: 95$
    McRee: 550$
Remington 700 sps (what the rifle originally was): 550$
Sold of original barrel (after 52 rounds) the b&c a5 stock and millet glass that it had also for a total of 750$+
Pt&g bolt plus all action work: 525$
    Timney 517: 100$
Suppressor: 200$ tax stamp 750$ for the can
    Harris: 100$
    Bushnell HDMR: 1100$

Do I regret building this thing... Hell no. Was money tight...hell yes!

Heres a pic my college build:

Yep... nothing... no money for guns. So I studied hard made good grades, worked my ass off to get a job. Worked my ass off and studied to keep my job, now years later im making decent money and can afford custom stuff. While in college you need to spend any extra money on staying out of debt as much as possible... get a job in college to pay for as much college as you can. Guns arent a priority in college. Set yourself up to have what you want later in life.. then get exactly what you want!!!

Then once you have a grand or two a month to drop on fun stuff because you have a good job and out of debt you can buy yourself anything you want

I am working on building an AR 15 battle rifle on a Sun Devil 80% lower. I'll take pics of the progress when I get home. It's easy to build a gun when you are going to school for machining. I did learn a little secret, buy blemished stuff. I have a blemished upper coming from Aero Precision for $60.

Cool stuff bud. I've got a friend that works for an engineering company and is in the process of designing a 'new' lower. Supposed to be a revolutionary design buttttt we all know how that goes.

When you are building rifles while "paying tution, rent, books, etc" you definately dont fit in the "no time/ no money" catagory.

Community college and working 75-80 hrs a week for 4 months with no days off. I have plenty of money, but no time to shoot. If I didn't have a job I wouldn't have any money. Tuition, rent and books are cheap depending on where you go IMO.
