Swarovski STX 30-70x95 Is amazing.

Absolutely loved the clarity and pretty much everything about it except the eye relief. As an eyeglass wearer, the 30mm eye relief on my Leupold is the only thing that keeps me from switching.

I wear contacts, but was using it with my glasses as well, I moved the eye cup "down" and that fixed things. It is tighter at 70x , but that can be expected.

Definitely better with the cup down, but I was still getting considerable vignetting. I'm sure there is an optical reason why the Leupold can get 1.5x the eye relief of most other spotters and there are probably trade offs in other areas. Wearing eyeglasses certainly presents some additional challenges for shooting.

I have to agree.

Best spotting scope available. You simply cannot find anything that supplies edge to edge resolution like the ATX/STX in anything on the market right now.

And the fact that it is modular blows my mind. Being able to transistion from a 65mm to a 95mm or a 95mm to 85mm is outstanding. At first the way they magnification was designed threw me, but with the 65mm and 85mm body the magnification is 20-60, but when you use the 95mm body now you have a 30-70X spotter.

Here's a pic through one with my phone at a plate at 1K.

By far the most sophisticated spotting scope around.

DG, I'm surprised you have prarie dogs there in the Dallas area.

by far. optically, the controls are more intuitive, not to mention it can go from a 95mm to a 65mm with the touch of a button.

By far?
I find that hard to believe. The Prominar 88 bested the Swaros optically, I find it hard to believe that optically the 95 is much better than the 80s other than a bit more light gathering.

As for the eyepieces easily swapping, who has both bodies? If someone has both, the 65mm body certainly wasn't free.

Joe

well, you can start with either body, and if your situation dictates a smaller or larger objective, your not married to one. I've had a number of customer get both. for instance, a guy wanted to digiscope while he was shooting and got the 95mm for that purpose, he also got the 65mm for a sheep hunt, so you can change the optic to fit the situation, no other optic can do that. as far as the magnification and focus adjustment, having them both in the same place make a world of difference, and it's something you don't appreciate until you use it. the prominar 88 bested the older ATM and STM, but this is a new system, and we compared them side by side, the swarovski is better, sharpness, color fidelity, and edge to edge clarity. don't take my word for it, go check one out.

I saw one of these at the NRA Convention in Houston. It did look pretty nice and intriguing. One question though, how much does the objective change modules cost?

I have one of these. Have looked through the kowa and found the swarovski to be clearer. It's the best spotting scope I have ever looked through and has a great mounting system for cameras also. Eye relief is sorted easily with the eyecup screwed down fully. I can make out 223 bullet holes to about 500 yards. I live in ireland so very little mirage especially this time of year

I just got one of these…..it is flat out amazing. Edge to edge it is perfect.
Better than the KOWA 88….? In a recent birding review the 65mm ATX was rated better than the Kowa 88. That huge piece of glass on the eye piece makes all the difference.
