Movie Theater Homeland season 2

-
I thought Homeland bettered itself on Season # 2, and was real solid with story and characters really developing into something worth watching .

Season #1 was good, but 'for me' I was not all that interested in the story line or in a hurry to continue on . last week decided to catch season 2 on NetFlix instant-play & now I am looking forward to watching season # 3 .
.

I think it worked best the first season with a good story that flowed well episode to episode; the second seemed a bit contrived and silly but still entertaining. It remains to be seen how #3 will be - I'm a couple episodes in and I'm not sure I like where they're going.

I never even finished watching the first season on DVD. I just moved on to something else and didn't have enough interest in it to come back and finish it out. It just felt like another version of something like Lost or 24, which never ever resolved anything or actually got anywhere. I get tired of having the bait being dangled just out of reach.

The first season actually comes together quite well in the end. According to an Israeli coworker of mine, that's how the original series it's based off of ended, but in this case they created a new story lines for the follow on seasons and I don't think they fit together as nicely.

I think they have written themselves into a corner. The whole premise of the story came to a conclusion when the whole broody thing came to light. I think it is evident in this current season as the story lines are weak and all they are left with is focusing on the individuals personal issues/demons which is a departure from the season 1 story/plot line. I think they burnt some serious bridges with the main characters that are realistically hard to recover from. There is no way brody will be returned to his former status, Carrie has been burned by the agency a second time and this time it was public record so I see any storyline/plot to bring them back into the fold realistically is implausible. I think the only logical conclusion to this current storyline is for the series to continue to string the audience on with stories on personal issues/drama with the characters that will lead to the death of brody or carrie or both of them and Saul and the family taking some kind of dramatic downfall or tragedy in the process.

I think they have taken a good story and in trying to milk it for all its worth, diluted the original down to something different all together. The same thing happened with Dexter only it didn't nose dive as soon as Homeland seems to be doing as the writers managed to come up with some decent shows/story lines even though they were way off from the books.
