I'm researching the latest scopes for shooting 1000yrd. I'm looking for ffp,mil/mil, in the 6-24 range and a zero stop would be nice. It will go on a 6.5 cm. The vortex pst was in the short list but I have been reading some mixed reviews on it. So time to ask for some help, thanks.

Can't believe I made it first so I can finally post this:
NCStar, Countersniper, UTG, Leapers, Barska, all make great glass for a sniper rifle

Vortex PST is a good one. For a tad less Weaver tactical 4-20 no zero stop but easy to reset. Both supreme jap. glass.
For a tad more the SWFA SS FFP or even the Bushnell Elite tactical even with G2DMR if you like to holdover.
For that kind of price range that is as good as it gets. If you like the vortex go for it. I don't know anyone who is unhappy with them
or any of the others above. the track fine, have good light transmission, hold zero and do what is expected of them.

hi, i was like you after reading a lot about the pst, but now sightron have an ffp scope that what I'm saving for for my new savage lrp in 260. made in japan too.
Well, I just got one this week, and so far, it's darn nice. I haven't shot it yet though. I will say I have three other Elite rifle scopes and they are outstanding. Rainguard is fantastic.
From what I've read, the two scopes are comparable. Both have fully transferable warranties. The Bushnell has the one year try out- if you don't like it for up to one year, send it back and they will send you a full refund. It's a free try out.
You will hear a lot of people say that Vortex has great customer service on their warranty. Either all those people are just repeating what they read on the internet, or they have had to take advantage of the great customer service. If that's the case, a lot of scopes are going back to Vortex to be fixed. That means there are a lot of problems. You don't read much about Bushnell's going back.
Bushnell makes a fantastic scope. I have had no issues out of mine whatsoever. I do not own a vortex but from what I understand they are comparable. The advantage on the vortex line is the "no questions asked" type warranty they offer.
SWFA 5-20 HD and the new Sightron SIII 6-24 FFP are two that come to mind given your requirements.
I have had the SWFA and the Sightron (SFP version), and really like them both. The Sightron has slightly better glass (IMO), but the SWFA is built like a tank.

It seems to me that yhe 1000 dollar scope range is the bare minimum you want to spend for any serious long range shooting. I really feel like you need to be in the 2000 range to have a really nice set up. Vortex razor hd, or a nighrforce, something in that range and you will be much happier.
NIKKO Stirling is a sleeper you may not have heard of. Good reviews with the heavy caliber crowds, putting the $400 NIKKO Night Eater and Target Master up against a $2,000 Night Force. Jap glass. I gave the 10-50X60 a try and have not been disappointed. Check the reviews.

Well. you know, not everyone can afford that, or wants to spend that much. He has obviously done his research and asked a specific question.
Before you LOL, have you tried one?
DRZ33 asked a specific question. He doesn't have the bucks for Zeiss or Zavorsky, and is looking for something with decent magnification, turrets and zero stops. NIKKO has been re-established in the UK over the past couple years and are put up against the $2,000 scopes. The Stirling models have decent glass and holding zero well on the heavier calibers. The 30mm Target Master model seems to fit the OP's needs for reasonable money.
He asked, I responded. If you've got a better idea, Azprc, let's hear it.

Vortex is the only option with the budget listed. Or he could buy a used NF($1500ish) for a little more money, but that would be over his 1k budget. Bushnell HDMR is close to his budget but no zero stop, so it cannot be overlooked.

I've been shooting with one for about a year now. It does very well for me, but I'm not rough on my glass.
The SS 5-20 is a very good scope, not quite up to you mag-range, but has excellent glass and adjustments. I have run mine pretty hard for a year now.
I have experience with all above mentions brands.
I would go Bushnell Elite over SS or Vortex PST ANY DAY!
I have all but the vortex on personal rifles. I have 3 friends with PST's though and have messed with them at the range and hunting.
Saw 3-4 PST's mess up at classes before.
For $1K I would recommend looking for a used DMR with the G2 reticle.
I have a 6-24 Elite tactical too and it has always done great but I like the DMR better. I have my DMR on a 6.5 CM
The SS has not done me wrong yet but I see flaws in it and just like everything anout the DMR better.
My fav is still NF and will remain so I imagine as tough best bang for your buck scopes.
A used 3.5-15 or 5.5-25 SFP is a great scope if the SFP turns out not to be a must.
BTW, I picked up a unopened DMR for $900 a while back so they are out there. It has been terrific and I haven't had 1 issue ever with holdovers, tracking, clarity, and haven't touched my zero for a year. And it is in my truck almost all the time. It goesthousands of miles in my bumpy ford and has proven tough.
We shot it out to 1326 yds the other day and it tracked up and back down perfect. Nothing not to like personally.
3.5-21 DMR gets my vote for optic in the price range with features you request.
