how does this happen?

That's crazy! I live in Silver City and anybody with half a brain knows to stay clear of the hospital here. Better off taking your chances driving to Las Cruces.

Needless to say that man is going to be rich.

fucking unbelievable, hope he cleans that town out like they cleaned him out! Charges should be pressed against the officers who did this too, gives LE a bad fucking name!

What about the doctors who carried out the procedures, do they give other doctors a bad name? How about the judge that signed off on the warrant, does he give other judges a bad name?

I say everyone involved in this fiasco should fry.

obamacare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just look at how many people were involved in this abuse of power. Shocking. Wonder if anyone is actually going to serve time? Surely those bastards are guilty of kidnapping at the very least if their actions were illegal?

The town reaching a financial settlement and people losing their jobs is not justice. Bad cops and rogue medical professionals being held to the same standard if punishment would be. They all need to be in jail and getting the local version of a colonoscopy.

X3.

Seriously though,, no matter how 'bad' this guy was previous (he has a record) at what point are 'limitations' brought into play? The whole "chain of responsibility" is astounding, here. But again, the city's taxpayers should NOT be on the hook for this. Each and every individual, including the judge, should be wiped out financially. Absolutely all items and funds that are theirs, should be handed over. And felony convictions, and jail time, and even "sex offender" listing should carry with them for the rest of their lives.

The Law organization (and I use that term loosely) goes after everyone they can think of while investigating a crime. And they are even more (how shall we say) "vigilant" during a high-profile case. "Aid'n 'n Abett'n" (My Cousin Vinny quote) makes each and all just as guilty, right? Tables are turned, and they started the dance. Now swing, batter-batter swing. It's your turn in the barrel.

Or, everyone can just roll over, turn the page, and ignore it like so many people do. It wasn't them that this happened to, it would never happen to them so it doesn't matter, and what is the next interesting thing that's coming out of hollywierd? Apathy rules the day.

Hmmm, well at least he's going have hundred dollar bills coming out his ass soon.

Truth...stranger than fiction, in the news every day.

Thats some scary sh@t! Being a police officer myself I worry about some some town justice. I hope heads hang for that one even the doctors. Obvious there needs to be better supervision, in this day and age that should never happen. Granted its few and far between but its so over the top. Too much pressure is put on law enforcement for numbers as well as poor training. Didn't someone there step back and say this is wrong?

Sounds like they were making a gay scat porno. They should call it 2 cops 1 cup.

I would think that the bulk of the money will come from the hospital in what ever law suits fallow

I'm not a lawyer!

- I don't think the judge really carry's a lot of blame here. What I see is that he issued a warrant with stipulations. It had to be carried out in a certain county by a certain time. I'm sure it was issued based on what he was fed from the field. Remember he's not there and he has to take the word of the officers. Again there were stipulations to that warrant that were to be fallowed AND WERE NOT!

-When the officers got to the first hospital and the hospital refused because it was un ethical that should have been the end of it. so at this point in my mind the judge is in the clear. So by this point the time on the warrant has probably expired and its obviously not going to happen in that county. That should have been the end of it.

-This is the point where the officers go rouge! and the second hospital shows there incompetence. The hospital is going to carry a huge part of the legal burden here because they failed to read or fallow the orders on the warrant. The officers should be charged with kidnapping or false imprisonment may be both they were armed at the time of the kidnapping or false imprisonment. The doctor should be charged with rape or any other charges that fit the crime.

what's the saying NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW

Everyone from the cops to the doctors involved in this should lose their jobs. This is a monumental fucktard operation from the stop the final enema. What a bunch of enema nozzles! They should all suffer the same indignation that man went through. THAT, my friends is JUSTICE!

Is this coming to a town or city near you or out on the highway as well?
You got to love them, "Bless their hearts."

Id best keep my mouth shut on this one.

I born in a socialist country where the government and the police had the power to do anything they wanted. Unfortunately I am seeing signs that the USA is going into that direction also. Thirty years ago people from communist and socialist countries were still immigrating to the US and were accepted on political basis as refugee. Today, people in the government are not hiding but often they express that they support socialism and communism. The media defends the abusive use of force of government or law enforcement. Criminals or even animals start to have more right than regular citizens. A corrupt cop can beat you or shoot you on camera and he gets away with it. He does the same thing with a dog and you see hundreds if not thousands people protesting suddenly. We live in a real screwed up society.

And the hospital sent him the bill of $6000.00 for their "services". WTF is wrong with people?

Usually the bill goes to the arresting department. When someone is under arrest, they are traditionally considered to be "In the care and custody of...". Because of that, he shouldn't have much difficulty getting the department to be responsible for the bill..clearly, he wasn't volunteering for any of that stuff, so whoever compelled it, would have to pay the bill. But it sure adds another aggravating factor into his lawsuit.

Wow, wish it never happened, but since it did this guy is going to be loaded after this is done.

Interesting... you know, there's a trend I see in stories like these (e.g. the cavity searches on Texas highways). About 30% of the people willing to voice their opinion on the matter mention the money coming to the victims...

So far, < $200,000 is what ends up being the settlement. I don't know if anyone knows how much $200,000 is to someone who is spending someone else's money, but $200,000 is about equal to jack shit. In fact, these days, $200,000 is jack shit to most anybody.

That is not a punishment. That's not even a slap on the wrist. Moreover, it's not adequate compensation for the "unlawful" use of a man's asshole by nazis.

Kind of begs the question.... "What is?"

Not condoning what happened there, but...

Editor’s note: According to the affidavit for the search warrant (included above), Eckert was allegedly “known to insert drugs into his anal cavity and had been caught in Hidalgo County with drugs in his anal cavity.” This significant detail was discovered during TheBlaze’s follow-up investigating on the incident.

I agree that many people think that they can make out pretty good during a lawsuit, and in truth they do not after the lawyer fees and everything else. My wife was recently in a vehicle accident, and everyone keeps asking if we are suing, and I keep asking for what, that is why we have insurance and that is covering all the expenses. However in this particular case the warrant had expired and the hospital was not even in the right county. They did an X-ray, did the finger sweep and even made the guy shit in front of them multiple times. It seems to me he could have a nice chunk of change coming, like 7 figures maybe more, between the doctors and hospital alone. They should have taken better note of the warrants requirements/limitations before doing all that.

History or not, at what point is enough? A couple X-rays, finger probes and shits with an audience seems a bit much then followed by the camera probe, I do not care if he has had a history, that all seemed a bit much for a little bit of drugs. Besides had he put anything up is ass, it surely could not have been that much, its not like it was a border mule, he was leaving Walmart.
