308 thread AND crown protector?

I've been looking around for a thread protector which extends out past the crown to protect it, but surprisingly the only one I have found is a limited run some guy did a few years back. Can someone point me towards a proper thread AND crown protector for a 308?

A while back , I "lost" my thread protector and I gave AWC a call with the thread specs/measurments , I forgot the price but it cam rather quickly and was made to my measurements given.

I was wondering the same thing, the crown on mine gets into some spots it doesn't really need to be in during hunting season.

Any good smith can make a thread protector. If you want it to extend out a little to protect your crown just tell him. SGC made mine when they threaded my barrel.

Good point. I'm just surprised that the thread protectors I've seen for sale don't have protection for the crown.

I emailed him my specs and he had it in the mail the next day. He did a chormoly thread protector with 11 degree crown to match my original crown, but he may be able to do a stepped or target crown.
