I tested some loads with 60 gr nosler partitions and cfe .233. I have used cfe with good success on quite a few loads so far 55gr and lighter, but no success with the 60 gr partitions. Groups opened up to the 3 to 4 in range at 100yds. Not sure if the twist is fast enough? Rifle is a 1 in 9 twist bushmaster with a 16 in barrel. Looking for suggestions with this combo.

H-335, IMR 8208 XBR, H4895, RE15, Benchmark, VV N-133.
No way that a 9 twist would have a problem with a 60.

As far as 60 grain bullets, a 1:9 is well within capabilities for that twist rate so it isn't that. There could be lots going on here but first off, the rifle may not like that particular bullet. If you are looking to try another hunting bullet try a 62gr Barnes TSX. Other than that you can change powders and give it a try too. Does it like any other 60gr bullets like a Hornady VMAX?

I have not tried anything heavier than a 55gr out of this rifle, 40, 50gr vmax, 52 hornady and sierra hpbt, 52 amax, and nosler 55 ballistic tip all shot great with the cfe. When I order stuff sometimes it seems llike a good idea to try something new. thought I would keep working up with the heavier bullets.

Whats your powder charge with the 55's vs the 60's. Ive noticed for me using benchmark its 1 grain difference. Benchmark is quite faster on the chart compared to cfe223. Cfe223 should work with the 60 and your 1-9 should be fine.

I shot up a couple boxes of the partitions in a colt 20" 1/9. Never did better than 1.5MOA at 100 yds. Got some 55gr Barnes TSX and immediately dropped to 1 MOA and it got better from there...... The partitions just did not want to do well with my gun. PLENTY good enough for hunting though.
