Nope. Just torque to specs for starters.

Powdered rosin?... Brownells...a non-marring anti-slip agent. Is what some people use.
 
I did everything as per the instructions that came with the mount, and the specified torque settings are rubbish ! I couldn't get Rosin, so I use a spray on glue. That was the only thing holding the scope ! Found out when I was changing the scope.

So you need to apply more torque than neccessary ( my mechanic friend, could feel how much was needed) and definitely use glue or rosin.
