Rifle Scopes Epoxy mounting scope into spuhr

Is it common practice to use epoxy to mount scope into a spuhr. It's gonna be mounted on a cheytac. If so what should I use?

Nope. Just torque to specs for starters.

Only if the scope slips, then it may be time to get creative.

If you want peace of mind that it wont move use powdered rosin as per Spuhr instructions that come with the mounts.

Yes.
Powdered rosin?... Brownells...a non-marring anti-slip agent. Is what some people use.

Thanks I had read that in the instructions and was just curios if people did it commonly on the bigger rifles

I did it on my 338, I don't think its needed but it isn't going to hurt anything and it's great piece of mind.

That's what I'm kinda thinking. I hope it doesn't kick so bad that it beats the scope around

You better hope your rifle doesn't kick so hard it beats you around. Any GOOD scope should be able to handle the punishment!

I did everything as per the instructions that came with the mount, and the specified torque settings are rubbish ! I couldn't get Rosin, so I use a spray on glue. That was the only thing holding the scope ! Found out when I was changing the scope.

So you need to apply more torque than neccessary ( my mechanic friend, could feel how much was needed) and definitely use glue or rosin.
