Just wanted to thank everyone on here for the great information that y'all post. I'm trying to contribute in any way I can but I am just starting to build my knowledge.

After reading many threads suggesting the APA fat bastard brake I decided to put one of these on my 300 rum. Man what a difference it made. I would say recoil is a quarter if what it was.

I was worried about the noise increase but to me (the shooter) sound increase was minimal if any at all. I don't know what the noise increase was to those around is because I was by myself and just got the rifle back today. You can definitely feel the concussion behind the rifle but noise is not bad.

Once again thanks to all of you who have spent your money and taken the time to help those of us with lesser knowledge make the right choice so we do not waste our time and money with inferior products. This is just one of many time y'all have helped me. Thank y'all very much. I hope I can help others like y'all have helped me one day.

One last note the guys at APA were very helpful, I wanted to make sure I was getting the correct threads and brake that would work with mr rifle. Thanks APA.

Thanks for the suggestion. Right now I am using the radian ear plugs that mold to your ears. I really like them, they are very comfortable and reduce noise significantly.

I have been looking at similar ear muffs because I thought noise increase was going to be greater than it was and thought I would have to double up on hearing protection. I think the plugs I have now are good enough that I will not have to double up.
