I'm a firm believer in the "Don't clean your rifle's bore until accuracy drops off." Lately, my AIAE .308 with LW barrel has been acting a bit strange. It seems as the bore continues to get dirtier, my CBS continues to get lower. Yesterday my CBS was .7mil low at 100yds and the next shots were dicked right in the bull. I went home, cleaned the bore, and went back out about an hour later. All shots were dead center.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm gonna keep an eye between these cleanings and see what other developments I can observe.

yeah man..I had a tactical 30-06 few years back and it needed to be cleaned after about 140 to 145 rounds...

Then it needed at least 10 rounds to get it back in the groove...But it was a shooter..Sometimes,i'm sorry
I traded it off...Oh well....I see some bench shooters clean after 20 rounds...if time permits...I found
it depends on the caliber.Like my 6br likes to be cleaned after 45 rounds...My 223 is a lot less pickey..
Maybe clean after 300 or so...I think the cut of the rifeling has a lot to do with it......Good luck-be safe

You sure it wasn't a case of cold shooter putting the shot low? Why not try getting someone else, proficient, to give your rifle a CBS and see what happens? Just an idea.

I will dry fire my rifle extensively before I shoot next time. I'll try to eliminate any cold shooter error to the best of my ability.

Bore Cleanliness vs. Cold Bore accuracy

You need to know whether if not your AE itself has a cold bore variation. Some of them do. Don't clean it. Start shooting and logging your cold bores with it. Fire a cold bore and a follow up shot each time. Once per day.
