Utah Shootouts Notice

UPDATE:
Bring your long distance gun w/15 rnds for a side match. Weather man says 19 degrees for a high temp. This means a hell of a "cold bore" shot some where up to 1000 yards.

Back by popular demand:
Saturday Dec. 7, 2013
Carbine & Pistol Run & Gun & Eat
North Springs Shooting Range, Price, Ut.
Be there by 10:00 am.
Bring 100 rounds each gun.
Bring strong side holster for pistol & sling for carbine.
Any pistol and semi auto rifle will do.
Not more than 200 yards for carbine and 25 yards for pistol.
Scopes can be an advantage for longer distances but not for closer ranges.
My wife is dreaming up a nice hot lunch for us to eat while the scores are being tallied (included with cost).
Cost: $25 ($7 range fee included so for annual pass holders it's $18)
Dress for the whether. "Cold"
Please let me know if you plan on attending.
Any questions just ask.

Also we will be adding pistol targets to the ridge stages. It will be Ar, pistol combo. If you want to have a blast shooting with great people you need to come out and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

looking forward to coming up there and help out. let me know if you need anything from me.

I'm there. Going to see about shooting both my AR and my little M1 Paratrooper Carbine with 4 moa Trijicon Reddot sight.

15 rounds for your long range gun should be plenty.

No firing your long range gun that day till you take your cold bore shot. This is the "on your honor" rule. We'll put a target up somewhere between 600 and 1000 yards for the cold bore (we'll decide where a few minutes before).

This should give new meaning to the term "Cold Bore" Shot. Somebody said it was going to be cold Saturday?

Looks like about 15 or 18. I kinda lost track.

Looks like a few prizes for the winners too.

Just got to the range. It's colder than hell here. Will have some fun stuff for you guys Saturday.

Have enough food for 20. I can run back into town & get more if need be.

Clint,

I was car pooling up with 3-4 other guys. Just got a call and they are pulling out, not wanting to brave Soldier Summit's weather 2x in one day. Can't blame them. I'm thinking it over.

Would it be prudent to reschedule? The shooting weather is not a problem. It's "do I put my life in jeopardy 2x in one day to have fun?"

Alan

Have had several people that cancelled.

Just use your best judgement guys. We'll be doing some shooting here with some locals.

Don't want nobody ending up like the lady that headed up the cowboy action shooter league here at the range. She was heading toward the Salt Lake side of mountain a few years ago to a match and was killed because of Icey road.

The road can be quite a bit different than Salt Lake or Price forecasts say.

Got some dropped out but some more gonna drop in. Should be a good group. It wasn't even down to "0" the last couple mornings when I got up.

Obviously check the road conditions before you head over the mountain from the west.

Well, my decision to not come just got made. 15 yr old son broke his right ankle this evening and now I'm on call.

shoot and eat

Had 13 shooters that braved the cold. Ron came in with the most points. These guys had so much fun, looks like we'll have to do a January shoot. Probably a morning practical precision and afternoon carbine & pistol. Stay tuned.
