I was looking to purchase a Steiner 4-16x50 tactical. I tried to place an order and was told they were out of stock and were being discontinued. I was just wondering if this was true? Maybe that is why I have seen them for $1499 at a few places.

Not to mention the 3-12x models being $1100 (briefly) at Botach. Just guessing here, but SHOT Show is coming up shortly, and I wonder if Steiner might be introducing a 5x or 6x range scope, like a 3-15x or 3-18x, to complement their 5-25x scope. And rumors are that Burris, which is under common ownership with Steiner, will be introducing a FFP high end tactical type scope as well (replacing their SFP XTR series). Maybe the Burris/Steiner owners don't want two of their brands competing against each other with similar products? Again, just guessing.
I got caught up in that as well. I tried to buy one last week the moment they dropped to $1500 but I got an email from OpticsPlanet last night explaining that Steiner has discontinued this model but they also provided me a list of other suggested scopes which were in stock. So, it sounds like the mark down may have been a bit of a scam. I emailed Steiner but haven't heard anything in return. Let's hope they come back with a similar version at SHOT show in January.

I placed an order at Amazon for the 4-16 on the 22nd. Said they only had 1 left @$1499. They've put a hold for that amount on my card. But as of today, it's still listed as 'preparing to ship'. Usually, they have it out the door on the same day. So I'm not holding my breath for this one. Suspect that by the date it's supposed to arrive, I'll get a little apology stating that they goofed and were all sold out. The only reason I have any hope is that it's listed as sold by Amazon and not through them by Optics Planet or another 3rd party.
Would be an awesome optic, at that price. Hope you guys have good fortune in your hunts.

The 4x systems are being discontinued and we are currently out of inventory on all of them. There should still be a few to be had but you will have to look around.

I just ordered a 3-12x56 from b&h photo video and was on the phone with them yesterday or a while trying to confirm that they would be able to drop ship it overnight from the manufacturer direct to my house. So I could have it in time for my hurting trip this weekend. As of yesterday everything was a go. I woke up to a voicemail an an email saying that the scope is now discontinued. The sales rep at b&h told me yesterday Steiner said they had the scope and it was going to be shipped yesterday. Today they said they don't have it. Very weird and now they're fucking up my hunting trip.
OP were you able to find any? I made a bunch of calls yesterday and B&H was the only place that had the 3-12x56 for $1399 that said they could get one to me this week which is no longer possible apparently. If anyone is interested in selling one PM me. I really don't want to take my scope off my 10/22 lol

When I saw the price plummet from $2295 to $1499 I had a feeling that was going to be the case. Luckily I snatched one up from OpticsPlanet via Amazon before they were all gone. It's an outstanding optic. Albeit a bit large, you can't get a finer FFP illuminated reticle scope for $1500.
I was wondering the same thing. Steiner just very recently appeared on Promotive, would not make much sense to list those items if they weren't available.
I just signed up for Promotive but apparently lack the correct team affiliations to even look at a Steiner product -- can anyone help me out?
Amazon is showing two in stock, one from Adorama Camera for $1500 and one from Sportsman's Guide for $1800.
midway.com purportedly has them, but you're going to have to pay the full $2300.

Whether or not its discontinued don't know but SWFA's site no longer has steiner as one of their brands they are carrying.
Well in the UK these scopes are just an all out Rip Off and at £2995.00 / $4881.85

i have one and love it. my buddy just picked up the steiner 5-25 miltary and i got to look through it and the glass was awesome.
Steiner replied to my post about this model being discontinued in another thread. They are making more. I guess they found out they had a winner and decided to keep making them

It wasn't so much that we decided to keep making it as it was that we had a lot of parts left in inventory after it was discontinued. What we have coming available in the next couple of weeks is going to be limited. If you want one then don't wait because we will soon no longer make them at all.
Anyone found any more? Looks like the ones off amazon were scooped up
