I've used for the last 2 year a Coma System from Tyr Tactical, now I did some changes to this vest, I've modified the left and right side, just a little big bigger, some fixed pockets and some space free to change configuration if I need.

a Mystery Ranch ASAP or 3 Day BVS complete the set up, the first one for 1 day competition the second one for 2/3 days, these 2 are to pack ghillie, spotting scope, tripod, more ammo, water/food, sleeping bag, tent ecc ecc...

That's a pretty good-looking setup. Have you competed with that setup yet?

That's the same direction I've been trying to go with my gear. I got the Grand River Tactical gen3 vest/backpack and am working on pouch setups for my gear so I can have the necessities readily accessible but with out being so bulky it more of a pain to shoot in than it's worth. Thanks for sharing

I'm using a TYR COMA too. Here are some shots of it from another thread here on the hide.

Uhhh...two of your pouches don't match. Its a dead giveaway of a poser! ;)

Are the pouches you guys are using Tyr Tactical as well or some other brand?

whats your rear center pouch that has your ammo in it?
looks like your using the plastic 10 rounders that federal ammo comes with
dave

What does it weigh with all your gear attached?

9.5 kg

not with this one, but I've competed with a TYR Tactical coma system, very similar to this one, after several training days and sniper competitions, 1 day and 4 days continuously match, Coma System was good but I've decided to customize the Tyr Tactical with different left and right side and with some custom pouches

Are the pouches you guys are using Tyr Tactical as well or some other brand?

the 3 pouches on the left side ( nomad, kestrel and PLRF ) are padded and custom made, the multitool is Tyr Tactical, the 2 pouches on the back are from Tyr Tactical, the green pouch for Steiner is from Kifaru, the Glock Mag pouch is from Endom, the last pouch on the right hand side is a custom pouch

I've also did the 2 panel left/right to change the original Tyr Tactical panel

Do the small pouches in the front by the buckle interfere when lying prone or do you unbuckle it?

no, I did some test, and doesn't interfere, but in prone position I open always the vest to be more comfortable..

is an utility pouch from Tyr tactical, I can carry 50... .308 rounds

this was all my gear for a one day sniper competition, Tyr Tactical Coma System, and Mystery Ranch ASAP inside ..ghillie, spotter 45, water, ammos and tripod attached

this is a good solutions, I'll copied your idea to carry my tripod..

Thats what I use it for mostly if I am using anything other than my SLIK tripod as my weapon is typically in my hands. It's more of a "if I had to, could I?" solution. The TYR dump pouch has a really wide mouth which allows a lot of things to fit in it and when not in use it rolls up on itself into a small egg roll/burrito so it's not in the way. It also has a nylon piece of fabric inside of the mouth with a draw string that you can use to close the mouth down with much like a climbers chalk bag.

Coincidentally, I too am using a G-code RTI holster system for my Glock, it's the small round disk on the right side of the belt, the holster has been removed obviously.

Papa. Are you just using the TYR Coma harness or the complete system and what small pack is that attached to it? Thanks

Not sure what you mean by complete system as I have the 1st gen COMA system complete as it came direct from TYR. I have added the small pack to the COMA system, it is a prototype pack made for a specific radio and unit that I had. The way it is designed allowed me to remove the shoulder straps and attach it direct via the MOLLE to the COMA. TYR has similar assault packs on their site that can do the same. I don't think they make/sell the exact pack I am using in the photos anymore. I used my old Paraclete pouches in lieu of the others TYR makes because they accommodate a lot of different items due to the way they are designed, the elastic on the outside of the pouch and the generous top flap allow that. I also use the TYR PICO body armor and the TYR ballistic version of the Brokos belt and the assorted pouches they make for it.

Without the pack on it, it is possible to wear the PICO over top of the COMA if you lengthen the straps out a little bit more as it's very similar to an old school LBE.

Papa you answered my main question, about the assault pack. Do you wear the brooks type TYR belt at the same time as the COMA? I've been eyeing the COMA going to pull trigger soon hopefully. TYR makes good gear.

No, you can't wear the Brokos belt and the COMA at the same time as the COMA sits where the Brokos belt would normally sit on your waist.

Coma here, i have it set up here with 2 double AICS pouches but I have 3 308 ar pouches, for times I run a Gas Gun, plus a load of other pouches depending on requirements. One thing that has never been moved is the Kestrel pouch.

Starting to kit mine up likely going to use TACO's since run AR or AICS in them. See you at the PRS in March

From the ideas I've gotten on this thread I pieced together my own rendition using a GRT gen 3 vest image.jpgimage.jpgAnd my favorite, the short barrel in the DTAimage.jpgI still have a few more pouches and my holster to add but it's functional for now.
