Hi gents

Its a cry of help from across the pond

Does anyone know of a quick YouTube video that has some top tips on how not to anticipate the shot when shooting a glock,

A friend is on a training course and their rounds are going low because of the above issue.

It would be great if I could direct them to a video to help them out, just to Give them a confidence boost to calm the nerves.

Start out with dry firing exercises and then one round at a time.
If they are especially new to firearms, then probably a smaller, more manageable caliber would be in order until they get over the flinch....say a .22LR.

Unfortunately, You don't just watch a video and cure yourself of the bad habit...it takes lots of familiarization, practice and trust in the firearm.

I am with Thrusty and I am sure he has much more experience in knowledge sharing than I.

Not sure there is a You Tube video I can recommend. That being said there are a bunch of them out there. Hickock45 seems to have a following and I would say that most of the videos from the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation) are pretty good. At the end of the day there are a bunch of people of all types (female/male, large/small, strong/weak, etc) learn to shoot and I suspect most of that happens with good instruction and practice.

smaller calibers, dry fire, dummy rounds, slow fire, help from a knowledgable friend/instructor and practice/practice/practice.

Best of luck to and nice of you to help a friend

What sort of godawful caliber from hell are you using that would create a case of nerves in a pistol shooter?

Tell your instructors (who are the ones who should be diagnosing and remedying) to break out the snap caps and go to town.

Hi gents

Thanks for the quick replies, I must admit I know I'm asking for the miracle easy way out.

The background is my friend is on a police firearms team selection course and being the uk the first chance to use a real pistol is on the course. I'm the guy that's supposed to know how to fix things and I ain't shot a pistol in years last time I trained with one (army) was 7 yrs ago. I did buy them a airsoft pistol to practice the drills, just dont have access to a real one.

Don't forget in the uk pistols are banned / not allowed for civilian use.

Oh and not that it matters their female .

All the best
