I just found out the hard way that the JP mount rings are just a little too far apart. Does anyone have a recommendation for a comparable mount that is known to fit the PMII 5x25x56s? Putting it on top an AR. Looking at the Spuhr site they might fit but I'm not finding fitting charts for any of em. Thanks in advance.

What are you mounting to? Are you looking for QD or fixed? MOA built in or not?

We use alot of Bobro and Nightforce

Thanks Chris. I'm mounting to a Seekins IRMT-3 upper with a 15" SP3R. No cant and fixed. I thought this JP would work but I thought wrong.

Looking at the measurments on the Badger it appears they would work. My max distance outside to outside is 4.8"

Layton, I have my SB 5-25 mounted in a spuhr sp-4002 on a xlr chassis and I don't think it would clear a full length rail. The forearm has a rail on top but it does not come all the way back to the scope and it definitely would not clear if it did. If they have one a little taller than the sp-4002 I think you would be good.

Talk to Hakan (Spuhr). He is on here and if you need me to get in touch with him I can. I do suggest the Spuhr mount. I have one of their mounts on my S&B PMII which is mounted on my Sako.

They are great mounts. I just don't know if they have anything that will work for this application. He probably want a cantilever mount since it's going on an ar. My xlr chassis is similar to an ar and my spur's height is 1.5" and would not clear a full length rail which I think the sp3r has. The tallest cantilever mount they make is 1.46" tall. Maybe I am missing one?

The Accuracy International one piece mounts work very well
The Sphur mounts are even better in my opinion

I have used both with the 5-25x56 scope. The objective lens is rather large, so if you have a full rail then you need to go with either the 45MOA AI mount or the 1.46" high (or higher) Sphur mount (like SPUHR:SP-4602) in order to have enough height to not hit the rail.

Thanks guys. No cantilever as I don't swap scopes around and will have no BUIS. No cant as I just don't see needing it with 223. Even at 600 I still have quit a bit of elevation left with no cant. Also a cant will throw the ass end of the scope that much higher. Even with the ones that show a centerline under 1.4" with the cant they have the ass end of the scope is actually higher.

JSF, W54, the bell clearing the rail is another concern as I have ran into that issue on bolts with S&Bs. Everything I have there has at least 20 MOA built in though. I also use Tenebrauex ARDs and caps which exaggerate the issue a little. I should be OK with a centerline above 1.3 here as long as there is 0 cant.

Magnum, Dimar, I'll call Richard and ask. I use his bases already on my Sakos I just hadn't seen what I was looking for on his site. The Alpha doesn't look like it has any offset so I'd end up mounting the front of the base to the forearm which I don't want to do.

edit: btw, the reason I went with JP to begin with thinking/hoping it would work is due to the way it mounts to the rail. The JP design doesn't have to account for both a QD and fixed option so you get a very clean look. That seems to be the exception though as most want QD so that's what seems to be out there.

On a side note since this was my mistake, look to the PX later for a hell of a deal on an unused JP mount. Not even gonna try to return it as I could have picked up the phone and called. lol. Lesson learned again.

Reading through the Spuhr material it looks like the SP-4016 will work as long at it is short enough outside to outside on the rings. Can't find measurements on it though.

For those interested I heard from Hakan and the SP-4016 is exactly what I'm looking for. At 1.35" above centerline it's also the lowest I've found. Thanks for the quick reply Hakan. Will have one on the way in the morning. Thanks for everyone's help.

Awesome! Hakan is a great guy! He helped me out on deciding which mount to get for the TRG-42!
