After toting around a full size shooting mat at various practical/tactical shooting matches I found myself wanting something smaller, lightweight, for want of better words something a little more convenient. After having seen Scott M from Sunrise Tactical Gear use his own mat, I knew that someday I would end up buying one.
The mat is lightweight, approximately 60x30, with a little added protection, weight I guess around 22 ounces. This is not the mat currently advertised on Scotts site, but an improved version based on input from other users. Scotts a veteran who makes quality products with quality materials, if you have a specify need, give him a ring its worth your while.

How much $$$? And how long does it take to roll up (correctly)? I have a TAB mat that is similar in size and material. At a match, as soon as you are done shooting a stage, you are always so rushed to move move move to the next course of fire. Rolling one of these up just takes too much time along with picking up all your other gear.

Looks really good. I love my TAB but would like to hear from people who have used this one also. Of course let me know if he needs me to test one down here haha

Trevor, I know what you mean, but rolling it up takes about a minute, fold over once, quick "s" fold, roll up and your done, I've noticed that after the s fold I sometimes just jam it in the pack, does it take a while to roll up the Tab mat?

Trevor, fold once in the middle, then quick "s" fold, roll and your done. Are you saying it takes a long time to roll up your tab mat.

In reality, no it does not take a long time. However, when you are done with a stage it just seems like you are so rushed, especially if the next group of shooters is already there waiting to throw their gear down. I'm the kind of person that can't just wad some shit up and go. I'm a bit OCD and have to roll it up correctly. Also, something minor I've noticed with these light weight mats is that if the wind is blowing it just makes it that much more a PIA to roll up when you are under a time stressor.

I use Scotts mini shooting mat he has on his website. It looks like the one in this thread but shorter. Its perfect. Fast rollup and go. Strap is attached. Caribeaner is attached. You cant lose anything. It must have been designed by someone who actually shoots sniper matches:D

I have like 5 different items from Sunrise tactical. Scott just does a great Job.
I really like the Arm band as well! Its a super important piece of kit I use every match.

I think I need to order some seat covers for my dodge!!

That's a good looking mat. I am in need. Right now for the winter, I use a walmart closed cell foam mat to keep me from getting too cold while prone on the snow. I will need to call as I use a Harris and either need a little something to "load" against or someone to teach me how to load a bipod on a firm surface with nothing to dig into......

Scott does great work! I have a few things from him as well, even had him make me a custom holder for my kestrel and rangefinder that attaches on the inside flap of my Lodrag.
