Just completed a savage build based on a model 12br in 300wsm my first tests on bench off bags at 100yds proved to be very good posting a 5 shot .38" group and a .28" 3 shot group all in a rifle that i have only $2500 invested. The build consisted of the following-
Savage m12 br action-blueprinted for accuracy
Stock-Bell and Carlson semi benchrest style
Trigger-Savage accu-trigger
Barrel-stainless fluted cut back to 20" and recrowned
Scope-Vortex 6-24PST with fast throw lever and bubble level and flip caps mounted with leupold rings on dovetail bases
Atlas monopod on the rear and harris bipod on the front
These groups were shot with factory ammo Win 300WSM 150gr and 180gr ballistic silvertips
