Rifle Scopes New member here. I have a question.

Alright, I'm kinda scared of asking this question because of the possible flame, but I ordered a SCAR-17s (Going to take me a while to get it and make it NJ compliant). I want to get a NXS FFP 3.5-15x as my first scope. I like the concept of buy once, cry once, so I'm getting it.

I have no idea how to use a scope.

Yes, I'm a complete gun idiot. I've been a liberal for a while, blindly following anti-gun media. I've been fed shitty facts by my family for about 22 years, about how guns are bad. Now that I'm living on my own, and actually understanding gun laws, I've realized, gun laws are pathetic and driven by fear.

Rant aside, I really am new to guns, and I can use an AR-15 with eotech/4x magnification to about 200-250 (I can hit fairly tight groups, about 5"). Recently sold my AR-15 (M&P Sport Tactical, as along with my eotech/magnifier) to help fund my SCAR-17s and scope buy.

Yes, I do know how elevation, wind adjustments work. I just have no idea when to use it. Can anyone link me to some good explanations of how I use a scope? Would appreciate it so much.

That is a nice optic. I am sure you will be happy with it. Just make sure you get one where the turrets match the reticle. Ie Mil-Mil rather than one of the mil-moar.

As far as how to use the scope . . . use the Hide's videos and Youtube. You could also take a class. There are many people willing to help you. You've come to the right place!

Can you get me a link on some videos? I'm also looking into finding some classes on long range shooting in the NJ area. Problem is that work is preventing me from taking classes...working in consulting is killing me right now and I'm trying to find a different job. When I come home I'm usually too stressed/tired to go out and take classes. When I go shooting, it's usually on weekends when my workload is non-existent/lower. I'll need to set up a specific schedule for classes if I want to start.
